Last week i bought a Barnsley (A) ticket via phone. I was advised that if i lost the ticket they would not be able to issue a duplicate – which was fine. The ticket however has never arrived. I phoned the ticket office today to inform them of this and was told that somehow it is my fault is has never been received???, i can’t have a refund AND will have to buy another ticket.
I told them this is illegal (which it is) they told me my complaint lies with Barnsley – which of course it doesn’t as i made a contract with the Latics ticket office to purchase a ticket from them for the sum i paid. Anyway, i will now have to pursue a refund through the small claims court for the ticket that never arrived and buy another on the day (i don’t live in Wigan).
Just a word of warning as I was informed apparently this will happen a lot this season due to away clubs ticketing policies.
Also, is it possible to buy one on the day?
1 August 2013 at 1:05 am #118588Yes you can only 100 left out of the 2, 000 allocation
1 August 2013 at 1:14 am #118590thought the allocation was close to 5,000
1 August 2013 at 1:22 am #118591Maybe they’ve lost the other 3000?
1 August 2013 at 1:24 am #118592We was sent 2, 000 but the stand does hold 5, 000 so pay on the day also
1 August 2013 at 2:00 am #118599Are you certain it’s pay on the day. Barnsley allocate around half the stand to away support, but somtimes open the other half to home fans. I’m going with the intention of paying on the day, but might have to settle for getting into the home end.
1 August 2013 at 2:07 am #118601and they will be sending the Charity Shield tickets out by post So if it goes astray what will be the situation regarding a replacement?
1 August 2013 at 2:19 am #118604At Oakwell, is it allocated seating ? If so, surley they can issue you a duplicate ticket for your specific seat.
1 August 2013 at 2:27 am #118606It’s unreserved mate.
The season begins in less than 48 hours and I still haven’t received my Barnsley ticket (now almost certain i never will), season ticket or charity shield ticket.
What a joke.

Don’t blame the club, blame the post office. I’ve got mine, and they came by post. Touch wood, never had a problem yet.
1 August 2013 at 2:37 am #118611It would be hilarious if this had happened to ‘WeregoingtoBarnsley’ !
1 August 2013 at 3:27 am #118619Oh no it wouldn’t!
My Community Shield tickets arrived today.
1 August 2013 at 3:55 am #118621My Community Shield tickets arrived today.Mine haven’t and only nine more days to go.
I am so worried I’m being careful not to sit near any sharp objects.
1 August 2013 at 12:06 pm #118634Took 3 days for my Barnsley tickets to arrive, still no sign of my charity shield tickets though.
