5 April 2013 at 3:56 am #107649So he’s supposedly our main crosser of a ball but isn’t in the top 10 in the league? Not good.
Stands to reason, seeing as we’re not in the top 10 in the league either?!

Neither are Southampton but Lambert is top.

He’s no.2, just behind Jarvis who cost West Ham more than £10 million.
And he’s way ahead of the next best, Baines, Valencia and Bale – all very expensive players.

Not for accuracy he isn’t, which means he crosses plenty of balls but usually fails to find a man.

I’m presuming he meant in the table at the bottom which shows the accuracy which is why I commented that Lambert was top. Admittedly he isn’t in the bottom list either which is a good thing I suppose.
Whilst you could blame Beausejour for crosses not being accurate, how many good crosses has he put in that nobody has attacked?
5 April 2013 at 4:52 am #107665He’s not doing too badly!
Successful open play crosses
Jarvis 42
Beausejour 35
Valencia 26
Baines 25
Demel 23
McAnuff 21How much have we got for a replacement? Jarvis – a pure winger – cost over £10 million.

Our team makes space for him.
Id expect him to find somebody from the positions he crosses from.He does deserve credit for getting into those positions but he could still give more.
Hes good enough for our team but I would like to see somebody come through to challenge his position or we buy another vercitile player who could also play there.
P.S he looks overweight (for a footballer)
5 April 2013 at 1:48 pm #107684If Beausajour was any better with his crosses and could beat a man he would be at a top club no doubt.
If Gomez did some of the magical things he does every game and didnt get occasionally caught day dreaming he would be at a top club.
If Kone scores any more goals he could end up at a top club.
If Di Santo could finsh & head a ball he would be at a top club.
Do you see the trend here?
5 April 2013 at 1:55 pm #107687I think that we are in agreement that Scharner had a poor game on Saturday. However, he was repeatedly exposed by the Norwich attack – and Snodgrass is hardly Gareth Bale.
The right hand side of Wigan – McManaman, Boyce and Scharner – proved far more vulnerable than the left – Maloney, Beausejour and Figueroa. Two specific comments on this site are that Beausejour can’t tackle and that Figueroa wanders out of position. Well, they must be doing something right.
Posters believe that they can both be easily replaced. Yes, they could be replaced, but better players would cost a lot of money. Wigan’s scouting system cannot always produce a bargain replacement on demand. And paying a lot of money doesn’t guarantee success – just look at Boselli.
5 April 2013 at 2:59 pm #1076965 April 2013 at 11:06 pm #107769But a manager requires some information about performance – of his team and the opposition – so that he can select his team.
He may be grateful to accept a scrappy win – but he can’t send his team out with the instruction to play for one.
