Poor first touch, but good finish. Saying that, I doubt our strikers would have scored.
4 January 2010 at 9:08 pm #17090That’s very true that Scotland wouldn’t have scored but, I bet Hugo would of. Wigan have no chance in buying Beckford though.
4 January 2010 at 9:13 pm #17091Why would we even want to sign him?
4 January 2010 at 9:24 pm #17092Why would we even want to sign him? Were low on strikers that score goals. Beckford has proven to me he can score 25+ goals in championship but Premiership, 10 goals a season or lower. Thats 10 more than Scotland will ever score in the Premiership

How on earth has he proven that? He doesn’t play in the Championship.
He’s scored 63 in 105 in the “Third Division.”
Scotland scored 45 in 90 in the Championship and 40 in 116 in Scotland high level. Just shows that statistics are worthless.

Maybe so but it’s almost bring yer boots time for us. I like Scotland, works his socks off, but I’d take anyone labelled as ‘Striker’ right now.
4 January 2010 at 11:56 pm #17120Beckford has scored one goal against a prem side. Granted it’s one more than scotland but one goal does not make a season and as yet he is unproven at champ level.
With that said I still cant see old ken selling him even with only 6
months left on his contract. He is their meal ticket to the championship. This alone would increase their gates plus with them not havin to fork out 250k aweek on wages for players who no longer play there anymore it would have to be a huge offer to get him away. ESP if you also add in the returns they will get from the gates at man u and now spurscould be wrong though
5 January 2010 at 12:42 am #17122But he is proven at championship level, he was on loan at Scunthorpe and tore defences apart, I would take him but i think Leeds are after about 5m, unless they sell him he will walk for nowt in the summer so they could be tempted with about 2m, Its a gamble worth taking id say although he seems to have a cocky arrogance about him and i believe he would walk all over Bobby Martinez

Scotland actually scored a penalty against Portsmouth in the Third Round last year, and a goal in both the original tie and the replay against Fulham in the Fourth Round.
So in the “goals against Premier League teams” contest Scotland’s winning 3-1 :D
5 January 2010 at 12:54 am #17125Ok so I stand corrected. Wish the fecker would get another 3 sometime soon though.

Bit harsh yes but he WOULDNT walk all over Martinez, Stupid comment to make.
5 January 2010 at 11:19 am #17146Why is it james, players have more power than managers and always get what they want. his attitude is not what we need in our squad, Good player yes but Zaki springs to mind

If he would walk over the manager then he would get flung out, well if he ‘tried’ to walk over the manager, and yet again, Zaki springs to mind, did him no good.
