I know its his money so he can invest where he wants to but why not invest in a small club in England. Probably be money in to a bottomless pit over here and a right little earner for him over there.

As garbage as she may have been at singing, she certainly has her head screwed on when it comes to business.
She’s the reason why they’ve got as much money as they have and she was (initially) the reason why they got noticed & were able to make it in America.

But yes, she gets on my waz too

Beckham had his moments as a player but was overrated I thought. Can’t stand her though.

The Beckhams could remake this advert if they are struggling for work…Sums them up nicely :cheer:

I dont get the hate towards Posh and Beckham….

Beckham is arguably one of the best set piece taker and crossers of the ball world football has ever seen. He gave his all in every match he played for club and country. Add to that the millions he has raised or directly donated to charities around the world then you can see why people were talking about him for a knighthood.

As for Posh as naff as it was Spice Girls has to be considered one of the biggest girl bands ever! especially in terms of revenue generated! Add to that a succesful career in fashion she clearly has an astute sense for business. And more important than all that I would still give her one.

Too much hate on this board recently. Share the love.

I wouldn’t touch her with yours Salford (she was always below Ginger, Scary & Baby in my Spice Girls ranking) but I’d agree with everything else you put

Actually having thought about it, I saw Sporty on somet the other week & she’s improved with age so Posh is now bottom of the league I’m afraid – bet she’s gutted :pinch:

I used to work with Sporty Spice’s dad. Top bloke, and very unassuming. Never brought up the family connection.

And in another claim to fame, Beckham’s new business partner for his MLS franchise – Marcelo Claure – is one of my customers.

        That’s how I roll….

We don’t have franchises in British sport (apart from the detestable MK Dons) so he couldn’t start a brand new club which will go directly into the top league. Also imagine Becks showing interest in a player over here and how much overpricing would be involved. He has to build a stadium which will be no problem over there where as here it will probably take him 10 years to get planning permission. I can see exactly why he would prefer to be over there with his new project. Good luck to the guy I reckon.

Away from Beckham, 2 of his former team mates (Gary Neville & Ryan Giggs) are rumoured to be lining up investment in Salford City

          What’s Salford City ?

Probably spouted this on here before but it pisses me off when man utd fans who have lived in Salford all their lives ask why I support Wigan when I am not from Wigan.

Without going into my choice of team the town of Wigan has a population of approx 82K of which a large percentage of fans turn out to see their local team week in week out.

Salford has a population of 240K!! If the same percentage of fans from Salford supported their local team instead of riding the glory boat across the river irwell you would have 40K people turning out to see Salford City FC every week instead of 500.

If Salfordians call Wigan a rugby town then that makes Salford a rugby city ten times over.

You really don’t do yourself any favours do you, before posting why don’t you do a little background research, the last franchise team in Miami went to the wall with debts of over $25 million dollars, so whatever Beckhams motives are it is not because he sees a “right little earner”

Try getting that argument over to thickos who used to go on about our crowds when we were in the premier league and neglected the excellent point you make.

I remember going in the John Bull chophouse before an Everton game a couple of years back and it was packed full of Wigan people I know wearing Everton colours !
If one things winds me up more than anything else is that “rugby town” myth copyright Talkcr@p that is trawled out regularly by thick pundits and rival fans alike !
Beckham in my view was a good player but not a great one (Shaun Maloney was better at free kicks and crosses IMO) and he used the hype and publicity machine his missus set up to elevate himself up to superstar status which these days makes me cringe.
Scholes and Giggs are the great players of his generation -Ferguson didn’t let either of them go did he?

Having run the line at Salford City on a couple of occasions, they don’t get anywhere near 500 on I’m afraid. Much nearer the 150 mark
To be fair to the residents of Salford, Manchester United have been playing at Old Trafford (almost litearlly a hop, skip & a jump away from the Salford boundary) since 1910 & Salford City weren’t formed until the 1940’s – Salfordians were therefore looking to United as “their” city’s club long before Salford FC arrived on any scene. They weren’t even part of the pyramid system till 1982
United is in effect their local side
