He’s probably being moved to Liverpool away from prying eyes and keyboards.

He’s probably being moved to Liverpool away from prying eyes and keyboards.Has the internet connection gone down in Liverpool then? Not that that is a bad thing of course!

Don’t be saying things like that or they’ll be holding either a strike or a candlelight vigil.

The wires were cut but it wasn’t the fault of the person that cut them.

So you have xray eyes and saw it was a break straight away.Wow I know you think your God but don’t think anyone knew until scans etc.Not prying eyes just passing him by,he unlike you was very pleasant.
Also he is going to a place in Liverpool called Shaw,a private one,so no one can get at him because Griff says so.19 February 2014 at 7:28 pm #127552Watson in double leg fracture heartbreak
Wigan Athletic can confirm the news that midfielder Ben Watson has broken his leg following an accidental collision during last night’s 2-0 Sky Bet Championship victory over Barnsley and is likely to miss the remainder of the season.
The incident came in the 15th minute, when he went in for a 50-50 tackle with Barnsley’s Martin Woods. Following lengthy treatment on the pitch, he was carried off the field on a stretcher and immediately taken to Wigan Infirmary.
Latics manager Uwe Rosler said directly after the match that he did not wish to speculate until the full extent of the injury was known.
The club can now confirm that there is a double fracture to the fibula and tibia bone in Watson’s right leg and he will undergo surgery as soon as possible. It is the same leg which he broke in a match at Liverpool in November 2012, but not in the same place and is not considered career-threatening.
Rosler said: “Until everything was confirmed, we did not want to go on the record but we have now had time to make a good assessment.
“Ben will receive the best possible treatment and we will do everything to help him make a speedy recovery. He is a terrific professional, a fighter, and I am sure he will return from this latest setback like he did a year ago when he went on to experience the high of scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup Final at Wembley, and write himself into the heart of every Wigan Athletic supporter.
“To lose a player and a person of Ben’s quality is a big blow to us but we will re-group and move on as a squad and keep trying to achieve our goals for the season, with the added incentive now of doing it for Ben.”
19 February 2014 at 7:56 pm #127553Sad news for Ben and hopefully for his sake it isn’t career threatening.
I’m not his biggest fan but I never like to see anyone get an injury like that.

19 February 2014 at 8:06 pm #127555Sad news for Ben – and for us all.
Nobody has had more highs and lows in the last eighteen months.
Look forward to his return.
19 February 2014 at 8:11 pm #127557Sad news to have it confirmed, but not a surprise from what we saw and heard.
Good to hear the club don’t think its career threatening, but it will be hard to come back again from a break (mentally and physically).
All the best to Ben for his recovery. Not our greatest player obviously, but will always be a legend for what he did THAT day :woohoo:

Yes I get that, but no one knew for sure.I was only passing information to you all on this board, what I had been informed by someone very reliable.Isn’t this what this forum is all about?.
Griff probably knew it was a double fracture when he saw it.So no need to tell him on here.19 February 2014 at 9:25 pm #127566Sad news for Ben – and for us all.Nobody has had more highs and lows in the last eighteen months.

has anybody got any information on contract know how has i thought he was out of contract this summer. what is normal these days when this happens to a player who might be of for about 12 months at the least
19 February 2014 at 9:44 pm #127568Good question.
I think Wigan could let let the contact expire, but keep paying his wages until he has recovered.
When he has recovered, they could offer him a new contract or formally release him.
