Well done to the boys my cheeks are frozen (arse) and I’ve no doubt we will be playing Southampton next season We’re league 1 and their premiership and they are shit simple as but hats of for their second that player on their left for the touch and break brilliant.
St Mary’s here we come.They weren’t shit at all. That’s doing our lads an injustice.
We were best in first half, they upped their game and were best by a mile in second half.
We take it on the chin and move on. Good luck to Southampton.
It came down to our Achilles heel not taking chances. They should have been beaten by half time. We need a big pain in the arse frontman to do the ugly stuff like big Em did. Someone to play to Will Griggs strengths. Its the half chances we seem to fluff all too often. We were superb throughout today and played some breathtaking stuff at times and made Southampton look like mugs. Fabulous performance by the lads which deserved better. If only we could have a cutting edge in front of goal. Once again my club has made me a proud Wiganner.

In the end we can hold our heads high knowing that “little Wigan” will be back !!!
Blinkin’ good game; Wigan played really well, no shame in the performance, from anyone, but a bit of a disappointment the run has come to an end, but we’ve got more to concentrate on, so really not all that disappointed!!
Game of two halfs where we had the first. Not taking chances cost us and they did well second half.
We’ve got to improve on set pieces, how many corners in first half…. can’t remember when we last scored from a corner?
Let’s beat Walsall weds and push on in the league.The game was pretty much played in one half of the pitch. First half was all Wigan, but we failed to take the half-chances that came our way. 2nd half, they came out with a different mindset, scored and then kept us at arm’s length for the rest of the game. In fact it could have been worse if Gabbiadini had converted his one-on-one chances with Walton.

We were the better side 1st half but failed to score. They were the better side 2nd and did score. 2-0 flattered them but we can be proud of our performance either way.
Its a weird feeling still buzzing today with some of the performances yesterday. Byrne was awesome Morsey Power and Jacobs busted a gut and Walton pulled off a worldy penalty save. Was good to see Saints playing with twin strikers which we generally dealt with well barring the odd mistake. Overall a really good game not even spoiled by the conditions. Just missing that bit of luck in front of goal. C,Mon you tics.
