17 December 2016 at 3:25 am #153221Eh ? Isn’t it Tony Callaghan behind all that tripe (pie) ?
17 December 2016 at 1:23 pm #153222Yep but Kenyon baked the pie for some unknown reason. Pic of him with Callaghan on Wigan today website.

21 December 2016 at 10:29 am #153338Thank goodness for Stephen Gage.
21 December 2016 at 11:22 am #153339Bill Kenyon was not a well liked mon at Latics but he did try at one stage to keep us at Springfield, revealing plans for a 15,000 all-seater development including a hotel and shopping facilities at Springy.Latics were to play at the nearby Woodhouse Stadium while Springy was being developed. In 1990, Kenyon submitted another scheme which would cost £3m, hold 12–15,000 fans and involve moving the pitch nearer to the car park. Neither efforts got past the Wigan Council planning stage. Blocked by the football haters of Wigan Council. Hence then Kenyons proposed move to Skem. Kenyon became even less in favour with the Latics faithful, along with The Council and Rugby. Stephen Gage took over from Kenyon and basicly saved us, but he spent most of 1993 and 1994 trying to relocate the Latics to the then Robin Park Stadium only for his plans to be scuppered by the actions of Wigan Council again when they announced plans for their own ground involving their skint chums Wigan Eggs which demonstrated another example of their favouritism to Rugby and highlight the contempt they had for Latics. This paved the way for Dave Whelan to come in and revolutionise Latics and make the council eat humble pie when he announced his plans to build a brand new stadium for Latics and Orrel RUFC. The council still persisted with their idiocy even after the stadium was built with delays to usage of the East Stand and their disgusting stubbornness on the usage of the East Stand for that Glorious day we beat Reading to gain promotion to the Premier League.
Ask your local councillor ‘what ever happened to your plans to build a stadium for the rugby?’ or how come they didn’t BELIEVE before Latics won the FA Cup. Amnesia will immediately kick in like it does with egg fans apart from our Eggy on Cockney Latic. -
