Could anyone shed any light on when the Billy Boston Statue is going to be erected in one of the town centre back streets?
Its been close on 3 years since the fundraising began and still no signs of the statue, an absolute disgrace from Lenagen and the club!
Wigan rugby could have paid for the statue instead of buying back a crocked over rated full back.
One massive insult to a rugby league legend!Fuck the EFL

Usually got plenty to say for yourself especially about Wigan Athletic!
Fuck the EFL
17 June 2016 at 12:38 am #149027I thought that was it on the little cobbled footpath going over the bridge towards Wigan Pier. Must admit though, I’ve never seen photos of Billy B with a flat cap on, so was a bit dubious.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!17 June 2016 at 1:13 am #149029I thought that was it on the little cobbled footpath going over the bridge towards Wigan Pier. 3 September. They have even made it on an international weekend, and now Wigan football aren’t playing in the 3rd division, there’s no reason why you cant attend the unveiling, seeing as its consumed your every waking moment for the past 3 years.
I look forward to seeing you there!

27 August 2016 at 4:33 pm #150282If any Wigan rugby ‘dignatries’ turn up for the unveiling they should be asked why its took 3 years.
Absolute disgrace.
27 August 2016 at 6:17 pm #150289Who is billy buxton ?
Something to p@ss on after a good session i supose3 September 2016 at 6:20 pm #150447Nice to see Billy get his statue at long last, he looked really proud and rightly so.
A big thank you should go to Dave Whelan/WAFC for making it all happen.
Thanks Dave!
Fuck the EFL
3 September 2016 at 10:33 pm #150456And of course, a huge amount of thanks should also go to the Billy Boston Statue Trust, who have raised this money entirely through private individual donations and fund raising, rather than tapping companies for a large (tax deductible) donation.
3 September 2016 at 11:45 pm #150457And a big thumbs down to Wigan RLFC who contributed Jack Shit.
4 September 2016 at 12:20 am #150459How do you know what they contributed?
4 September 2016 at 1:13 am #150461If I remember correctly, it was in the constitution that all funds would come from individual donations, which explains why it took a long time.
I take my hat off to such a principled organisation who could have taken an easy route to raising the cash, but chose to make it a challenge. A principled organisation raising money in a principled way for a true statesman of Wigan. A true success story.
4 September 2016 at 1:21 am #150462How do you know what they contributed? How do you know they did? Wigan rugby should have paid the full amount and had the bloody thing erected within 12 months instead of cadging off every fucker!
Fuck the EFL
