No team has done the double over Sunderland yet and only one away defeat all season, averaging 2pts per game on the road (2nd best in EFL, only bettered by Norwich). 11 goals conceded away (best in EFL). 4 wins and 2 draws in last 6 away games.

Every stat going says comfortable away win, but stats are stats. Wigan will win tonight. ;-)

Good result for you guys. Hope you back it up with a win against Crewe on Saturday.

Rochdale beating Swindon was a big result at the bottom too. Means two of the four places are pretty much sorted. I’m sure Lincoln and Peterborough wont put in such a shit, cowardly performance against Bristol & Northampton like Sunderland did tonight.

Thats what you get though with a squad thats pretty much all out of contract in June and have 0% chance of another if promoted but 25% chance if they stay in L1.

So you’re not going up because players are out of contract???

Fucking brilliant    :yahoo:

Give him a break FFS, he has come on gracious in defeat, wished us well and hopes Peterboro and Lincoln put in better performances than his team.He even, (probably tongue in cheek) predicted a win for the Latics.
Lets show a bit more class eh.

                  #192230

Cheers mutt I still think you will do it, at this level with a player as good as Mcgeady in the side and Wyke finishing things off you will be ok.

                  #192231

Thanks. TBH, I didnt expect anything else but abuse from the likes of SSB and Bullitt. They have no class, nor humility.

I won a few quid off sky bet last night when it was 12-1 for a Wigan win. It wasnt tongue in cheek either. The Sunderland squad is packed full of players with contracts expiring who have either played and failed at champ level, or never played at champ level and never will. Very few would have their contracts renewed if promoted and therefore by winning promotion, those same players are almost guaranteeing themselves to be out of a job come 1 June.

There is a massive rebuild at the SOL this summer, regardless of what division we start next season. The only difference is that we are now owned by a serious billionaire instead of a two-bit southern chancer who was only in it to flip a quick profit.
