After me saying I am not bothered about the Cups this season I still found myself celebrating wildly when the winner went in. Who would have thought at half time what was in store in the second half. We were poor first half. How many times did we pass the ball straight to a Blackburn player ? It was no surprise when they opened the scoring in the second half but that seemed to help us and we suddenly looked a threat going forward. Their keeper helped us to be fair but no keeper could have stopped the winner from Theo ,what a way to win a game !
9 January 2022 at 11:12 am #195082Cup Fever is very contagious, there is No cure for it,
a local Derby 5 goals and we score the Winner with a beauty.9 January 2022 at 1:03 pm #195085Funny though, how their first goal was a great goal (Jamie really should have got to it, IMO); whilst our first was down to a goalkeeping error. I’ll admit that our second was a tad lucky (bit I’ll take it as Karma for that cheating goal they scored against us when their mon took the corner to himself, a few seasons ago). However, their second was clearly offside but the linesman on the West line was alsleep most of the afternoon.
Anyway, poor young goalie has been made the scapegoat to cover their embarrassment9 January 2022 at 1:06 pm #195086Cup Fever is very contagious, there is No cure for it,

Got to say I thought the crowd was a lot bigger than 9,900.I was in the West stand ,it’s a bit hard to judge how many are in the stand you are in but the East stand looked pretty full plus they brought about 4,000.
9 January 2022 at 2:25 pm #195088Couldnt declare the crowd as >10K as no Covid protocols were in place. There must have been a hell of a lot of walk-up purchases, because the club had been promising to give supporters plenty of time to get a LFT or get their NHS App ready, yet there was nothing on the official sites.
It certainly buggered up my guess the gate entry as the sold seats page was awash with available seats on Friday morning!
…and I thought it was only the Egg men who fiddled the attendances!
9 January 2022 at 3:08 pm #195090Great game and day out and turn out from Blackburn very very good.
The little melee after our second goal in ES2 reminded me of the old terrace days in the seventies.
Great performance from our lads in the second half against a very decent Blackburn side.
A cup tie that will live long in the memory that one.9 January 2022 at 5:12 pm #195091How come the 2nd Rovers goal didn’t go to VAR ? unlike West Ham’s first goal today ?
Are we playing with different rules ?
Anyway, bring on Joke City; definitely beatable if you ask me

Yes. VAR only in use at premier League home games in FA Cup.
