Until this season, I had nothing against them. However, throughout this season, the stick and abuse they’ve given Latics via forums etc has changed my opinion.
I just read a post in their vital site that said that Latics are “a small club with no ability to push on” next season. Obviously, they’ve not heard about the takeover, lol.
I read comments about whether they should sell or keep Dack, as they have concerns about whether he can play at championship level, and also his injury record this season. Similar to Nick Powell, he apparently had the same recurring injury. The difference is, we KNOW Powell can play at that level! They reckon Dack is worth 15 million. Not a chance. You could chuck in his caravan, pick up truck, knife sharpening gear and his tarmaccing equipment, and he would STILL be worth less than Powell. I bet the league were relieved when we won the title, or else the trophy wouldve been melted down into lucky charms by now…..
I’ll finish off by mentioning who Blackburn fans were talking about as a possible transfer target….and this, I am sure you will agree, shows just how deluded they really are. Edzin Dzeko. Yes, the same one who plays for AS Roma. Ex city and Chelsea. They were being serious too, that’s what makes it worse. How many million would he cost? Plus 100 grand a week wages. I’m sure he would relish playing alongside Graham and Dack……
Perhaps we should have a look at Griezman, or Lewandowski, eh? Rolls eyes….
7 May 2018 at 1:41 pm #168930At least Moanbry had the decency to congratulate us in the end.
I have had banter with a Rovers fan all season in a local saw mill and must say I haven’t had any of that superiority complex from him at all.
Both up now and with Knob End failing in their promotion bid and The Pig Footers scabbing safety we have three potentially decent crowds so we can shut all three of the “back in the fifties brigade” up again.7 May 2018 at 1:42 pm #168931Obviously, they’ve not heard about the takeover, lol.I’m sure they have. This takeover is now 3rd behind Eastenders & Coronation St in “longest running saga”. Why is it that a takeover of Sunderland is done and dusted within a couple of days, yet this one has dragged on and on and on?
I’m beginning to think that one party is trying to screw a bit more out of the other party and it will all end in tears. I hope to be proved wrong, but DW does not have the funds needed to subsidise a successful championship campaign.
7 May 2018 at 2:35 pm #168932No, I am sure he has the funds but having the will is another thing. I am sure he would love to throw the family money at us and get back to the Top flight but sometimes just like us all the head must govern the heart. He has done it before and the club he has built up seems to be in a decent state so I am sure above anything if he leaves he wouldn’t want his hard work to be ruined by an asset striper or anyone else who could undo his hard work. Maybe that is the reason it’s taking a while and for that thanks again Dave.
7 May 2018 at 3:01 pm #168933Meanwhile, whilst DW and the Hong Kong Set do their very long, slow dance, the rest of the world is moving on. Contracts need to be re-negotiated, new players need to be identified and signed and those who run the club on a day to day basis need to plan for the Championship, particularly with regard to what the operating costs and budget will be.
7 May 2018 at 4:35 pm #168934I’m beginning to think its going to be investment rather than a full blown takeover. Cookie close to signing a new deal makes me feel that David Sharpe will still be in control in some capacity. Normally new owners want their own choices in place. Cookie staying is a no brainer however and could be that they like us know he is the right man for the job.
7 May 2018 at 4:43 pm #168935on wish fm now sharp saying takeover possible in next couple of days he is hoping to remain chairman
so its a complete takeover7 May 2018 at 4:54 pm #168936Well his chairmanship gave us this promotion this season so let’s hope he still will be involved.
7 May 2018 at 6:26 pm #168937Well his chairmanship gave us this promotion this season so let’s hope he still will be involved.Definitely. Be good to still have him as a steadying influence so nothing too drastic is done by the new regime.

Oh I don’t know. Was talking to some Doncaster fans and ther knew nothing about it. They were surprised.
I spoke to Mr Whelan on Saturday. Told him “Thank you for everything you have done for us, we really do appreciate it very much”. Shook his hand. With all respect, he is looking his age now, and we can’t blame him for selling the club. Hopefully young David can remain in order to see things run smooth. Hopefully we can enjoy next season something like this.
Ps. Mr Whelan actually helped me to achieve an ambition, when I met Pele in 1996 when he came to open the JJB Warehouse. Met him, talked to him, shook hands and got him to sign a Brazil shirt. And later on I did the same with Jairzinho, when Mr Whelan brought him to a match day at the stadium. So both with the club, and for me Personally, Mr Whelan has done great things.

It’s common knowledge that the Chinese economy is booming, so where as they found their Indian deal to cause severe heartburn problems, hopefully our Chinese deal will work out very rice and put the club on something of a chop suey roll.8 May 2018 at 8:40 pm #168967One comment: “At least with Venkys there was a ready made Premier League club with decent crowds on offer,… ”
Ready made Premier League club? Shall you tell him, or shall I about our comparative recent histories?
8 May 2018 at 9:28 pm #168971They were even boasting the other week they had the best keeper outside the Prem
ERMM HELLO
Christian Walton kept 2 more clean sheets won the golden glove and all this in a season he broke his leg.8 May 2018 at 10:46 pm #168979Technically speaking they have!
Raya is their keeper, whilst Walton is only on loan to us from Brighton!
Not that I’m agreeing with them…
