Am i missing something or are our left wing using an American issue to go around trashing everything they don’t like over here(which let’s face it, is most things in the UK)?
Saw a couple if images from the London riots, where a couple of the ‘protesters’ had ear pieces hidden under their scarves and caps. Why would they need that?
Taking the current situation out of it, why are English protesting our government about Black Lives. Surely ALL Lives Matter!!!!!
8 June 2020 at 8:50 pm #186402Racism is wrong in all forms, which includes racially abusing police officers whilst protesting about racism.
Criminal damage is criminal damage whether the reasoms behind it are correct or not.
Despite Raheem Sterling’s nonsense (and down right disgusting comments) we are fighting a serious pandemic here and the actions over the weekend have put everyone at risk

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
12 June 2020 at 10:41 pm #186630Totally agree with you DD; All Lives Matter !
Surely it’s discriminatory and not in the spirit of diversity to just consider Black Lives. And all this nonsense of trashing statues & street names. Just watched the news and saw the criminal damage to Penny Lane signs in Liverpool. Look, history is history; whether it is good or bad! We might as well rename every town, city or place name that contains chester or cester; just in case it glorifies the Roman Empire !!!!!!
What the fluk is happening to my country    :ohmy:13 June 2020 at 1:26 am #186631All lives matter is the stock answer from a white person who has never been looked at in a funny way when entering a shop, or been stopped and searched by a police officer for no reason. Of course its true, and in an ideal world, BLM wouldn’t have to be raised. Sadly though, there are areas of society where being BAME means you are treated differently.
Is there a need to raise awareness? Yes
Is there a need to demonstrate? Yes
Should this demonstration be now? No
Should it involve rioting? NoSadly, it does appear that what started as a surge of support for ending the institutionalised downgrading of a Black life has been hijacked by extremists who are just out for a fight with the establishment.
There is a time and a place to protest in large numbers. When there is a transmissible disease that is killing the very people you want to protect, right now is not the time.

My mate was also stopped whilst driving 3 of us around at night once and asked where we had been and were going.
13 June 2020 at 10:36 am #186850I can think of plenty of Latics away games where we have been searched before entering the ground or vicinity of the match. What a liberty, when the group that I regularly attend games with are all respectable citizens and well behaved on our Latics days out !!!!!
