Having played Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool & Arsenal in the first 7 games its little wonder they only have 3 points to show for their efforts.

20th place in the PL gets slightly less prize money than 18th, but they’ll still be playing each other next season.

You’re right Mutty – and it would be shocking to be hanging just above the relegation places if you had a net spend of fifty-odd million quid over recent seasons, and your chairman had ‘taken’ a new role in overseas development. Maybe then I’d be worried.

Is it a sell-out or would I be able to wander up 15 mins before kick-off and get a ticket?

I went in the West stand once against Chelsea a few years ago, so I’m on the database as a “loyal” fan.

We should make a hero who told us he has served his nation and got a photo of a worrier’s flag on a tournado jet fighter under a tent in the desert like you have, the guest of honour, but wont you be at sunderlands game ?

I dont need to be Dr Who to make the following games, even if I wanted to:

                  Wigan v Bolton Sat 15 Oct 3pm.

                  Arsenal v Sunderland Sun 16 Oct 1.30pm.

I take it by your comments about the Warriors Flag, you are referring to the men of 45 Commando Royal Marines, who are currently getting shot at and killed in Afghanistan. They allowed Wigan Warriors to do some pre-season training at one of their boot camps. Hopefully next season, they will be invited to a home game as guests of honour and will get a standing ovation from every man, woman & child.

Unlike those overpaid prima-donnas you follow who probably did pre-season at some up-market nail bar and dont even know where Afghanistan is.

No i’m not talking about that and you know it – I am talking about what you posted on this site a couple of years ago in your previous incarnation, muttyshitegob, when you claimed to be stationed in Kandahar servicing jet fighters on desert patrol, and posted a photograph of a tornado fighter and the ground crew with a worriers flag, or was that another in the catalogue of lies from your walter mitty lifebook.
The prima donnas you speak of, do no harm in their insular cosseted lifes,I wish the same could be said about the antipodean drug riddled thugs, who participate in that second rate pastime played just off the M62 sliproads.

LEE Mossop reckons the Wigan squad is as tight as ever – thanks to the Royal Marines.
The Warriors spent three days training with the elite 45 Commandos in snowy Scotland last week.

Coach Michael Maguire opted for the military-style experience – instead of a warm-weather camp – following a similar stint with the Army last year.

The players were put through a range of activities at the base at Arbroath, including fitness drills, marching with full kit, abseiling and mock weapon warfare.

And back-rower Mossop revealed: “It was enjoyable but it was horrible at the same time!

“We got a lot out of the Army camp last year and I think we’ve got even more out of this. The Army camp was just flogging after flogging but with this, we got to do some of the things that they do, which was really good.

“The first night, they kept attacking us and we were on guard, looking through night vision goggles. We had to be alert so we couldn’t sleep at all.

“Then on the final day, we did a 10-mile hike carrying logs and machine guns. We got to a frozen lake and we had to break the ice with the logs, wade through it and then carry lads up the banks at the other end, so it was really hard work.

“But it was good team-building work because those kinds of things are twice as hard if you don’t talk, and so everyone ends up speaking to one another and getting to know each other well. It really helped us gel as a team.”

Why would anyone want to sit in a ‘nail bar’ when you can go all the way to ‘ARBROATH’ and look through night vision goggles and carry tommy guns, still its good training i suppose knowing how to survive in case a drugs deal goes pear shaped.
