Try something different because this boring shit will never work with the team you have assembled. Charlie Nicholas absolutely ripped your system to bits on Sky today and who can argue.

5 February 2012 at 12:11 am #80374Since when was Charlie Nicholas a manager or ever managed?! They are paid to offer opinions and make the show tick over then off home with a fat wallet.

Sorry but he was spot on we will never score goals with one up front, our build up play is to slow, we are terrible at the back. Argue with any of that, bet you can’t???

Plenty of other teams score with one up front – so yes, it can be done. And, as far as I’m aware, we were playing 3-5-2.

We know we are poor and your right this system will not see us scoring but every time i listen to Charlie Nicholas talk about us its always in a derogatary way no matter what ala Gobney Marsh.

Moses and Di Santo.5 February 2012 at 12:22 am #80388I agree, Di Santo looked less isolated today and was well supported by Moses and Beausajour who put lots of crosses in today.
Wished we’d gamble on making a run for those crosses more though.
Thought we were slightly more direct in our play and our midfield and defence looked stronger.
5 February 2012 at 12:23 am #80389And, as far as I’m aware, we were playing 3-5-2.In theory that was the line up, but when you factor moses into the equation the sum total adds up to one up front, he’s slow, greedy and totally uninterested.

Your right he is not the most complimentary but he called it spot on for the reasons I’ve already stated.

Moses and Di Santo.[/quote]So you thought DiSanto and Moses played as a front 2???
The game I watched Victor played wide right well he was on the right wing I don’t think he played today.
5 February 2012 at 12:36 am #80394Standish – you are the new Griff
A wind up mon, taking the piss
2 up front ffs take your blinkers off, your the only one left that believes I can only conclude you are on the pay roll

End of the game – yes, Moses was on the right as he replaced Stam, and Jones dropped into there when on the back foot.
For most of the game, as LMB has said, in theory it was 3-5-2, but Moses went walkabouts too often and dribbled up cul-de-sacs.
I think the idea is Moses plays a similar role to Rooney at Man Utd when he’s with Hernandez – where he’ll drop back or roam out wide, find the ball and link up with Di Santo. Unfortunately, that’s where the similarity with Rooney begins and ends.
