No cant see that….
Martinez for me will be a better manager .. so cant see him taking second fiddle to him..
They tried experience in Dalglish and it didnt work..
with the amount of talk whelan is doing to me it seems he is doing his best to get rid of bobby
maybe through loyalty he couldn’t sack him
but here is a way out for both party’s makes you wonder
which is the harder of the 2 ;-
Being successful with a team with well over 100 million quid’s worth of players or keeping a team in the prem, with Chocolate button’s ?.
I tend to think Bob feel’s that option 2 is the more difficult job to do year in, year out.
Whats making me think Bobby is off is that Spud Yed was a shoe in for the Hull job and is now holding back. That tells me Mr Whelan has already contacted owd Spuddy.

Unless Whelan has got someone significantly better than Bob lined up who is willing and able to keep/improve this squad and continue with the current ethos, why on earth would he want to get rid of Bob now??
As for Bruce returning – whilst I was impressed by what he achieved (until we just stopped playing in February) – he would be a major step sideways if not back from where we are now.

Nail on the head mon.[/quote]
More like nail well and truly on thumb !!
Why on earth would Whelan want to get rid of Bob when after two and a half years of struggle he has finally created something worthwhile.
To me Whelan is putting both Bob and LFC under pressure to make a quick decision , meaning they have less time to iron out their obviously large differences. Result – talks break down and we only have to worry about Villa coming in. :(
Get the feeling Whelan, as ever, loves taking a bit of the media spotlight.
Problem with Martinez and Whelan, is for each time Martinez gets approached and turns it down, how many clubs will want their manager search all over the papers in such a public way !
I think he will go, but hope he stays and we really see if he has what it takes to push the club upwards in the league.
