5 March 2010 at 11:01 am #25279Very interesting read, explains a few things, especially that he didn’t intend throwing Scotland and Gomez in so soon.
5 March 2010 at 11:24 am #25280fair play to the club and bobby for doing that, especially considering the form the we are in at the moment they could have easily dodged it..we all need to get behind the boys now and make sure we can see this through with bob ;) ;)
5 March 2010 at 11:41 am #25282It was a good review of the meeting, sounds like bobby is everything all the positive people on here think he is. At the end of the day results are what matters, lets hope the optimism is maintained and we stay up.
Come on !!!!
5 March 2010 at 11:56 am #25284Nice piece and well done for all those who arranged it and attended
Conclusion
It appears that
we have drawn a line under all that has happened so far this season
we are starting from now – 12 points needed from remaining games
we are all in it together to achieve that goal
we have all to be positivefair enough and I agree with all that
However – if it all goes tits up and there is another Q & A session then I would expect the questioning to be a rather tad more robust

5 March 2010 at 12:48 pm #25287I hate to sound negative but that just sounds inconclusive to me ! At the end of the day what did you expect him to say ? Was he put on the spot good and proper ie awful tactical substitutions when in control etc ? Yeah ok he is good for doing this little confab but you only appear to have scratched the surface of a potentially very deep wound !
5 March 2010 at 1:05 pm #25288What a poor interview, there has been no specific questions asked and it appears all the fat men in the photo would have been sat there star struck.
You have not represented the fans and not asked what needed asking.
Sounds like a good bloke, we never questioned that, we questioned his ability and saying Gomez and Scotland will come good should have been laughed out of the room. He also did not throw Scotland in straight away either.
He is a legend and a good bloke granted but he is not the man to take Wigan forward, the interview shows that quite clearly. Also asking him what his choice of pie is, is pathetic. Just because the fat men doing the interview like pies, this has made you look like jokers.

You claimed in a post a few weeks ago that you were a thirty year old man, who had his own business.
With some of the comments you’ve just made in this post, I find that very hard to believe.
5 March 2010 at 1:12 pm #25290Natdan why dont you set up your own website/forum and ask your own questions?
5 March 2010 at 1:21 pm #25291That’s a good shout Landgate, because clearly Natdan’s views are not represented by the five different fans’ forum sites who were present.
Maybe a public stoning might have been more acceptable.
5 March 2010 at 1:33 pm #25292No hang on fellas, i think natdan is bob on the money here. Powder-puff interviewing techniques indeed.
Natdan, to back up your point, please dig out your copies of similar meetings that Wenger, Ferguson, Benitez, Bruce, Moyes and all the other premier league managers held with their fan’s representatives.
I’m particularly interested in the minute from the discussion between Ferguson and some out of work hobo who asked him “why did you sell Ronaldo, you useless drunken scottish c***”

Did he not use the phrase ‘red nosed’ as ‘Scottish’ was deemed as racist?
5 March 2010 at 1:44 pm #25294Natdan, they call it ‘spin’. That’s not meant in a negative way, and it’s up to the individual how you take it. Depends which side of the fence you sit. However, I can see where you are coming from.
But what did you really expect? For them to go in there and start slaughtering his tactics and formation, in a real ‘character assassination’ exercise? No. They had to be constructive, in order to let the comments and conversation flow-the secret of any good interviewer. And anyway, look at it like this, how would you feel if Roberto came into your place of work, and started telling you how to do your job?
Personally, I’ve changed sides more than an Eyetie in WW2 this season, but after taking time out and thinking things over, I’ve come to the conclusion that as as club, we are fortunate to have someone in charge who has a genuine affection for the club. And also no matter whatever happens, I’m still going to be there next season. So why keep on feeling down about things? We might go down, we might not. To be honest, we might have to endure a relegation, in order to get rid of the mercenaries and ‘dead-wood’. One step backwards, to take two steps forward.
And let’s be honest, he has inherited a ‘patchwork quilt’ of a squad, with players who need getting rid off, but who are more than happy to sit on fat wages. He has already said he needs at least 3 transfer windows in order to sort these problems out and build a squad to his taste.
And finally, how many other Premiership managers would do an interview like that? Most don’t even like talking to the press, never mind several possibly opinionated supporters! So we are in fact very lucky to have such an open, smart and articulate manager in charge.
