The court case is nothing to do with the EFL.
I think the fans gripe with them is that they never stepped in to help when they could see what was happening in terms of Anderson running the club into the ground but I don’t think the EFL have the power to do that (or more to the point want to do that) otherwise they would be getting involved in every clubs business.
What they do need to do though is actually complete proper checks when people try to buy clubs as opposed to the “show us the money” check that they do now which turns out to be utter pointless.
I’ve said many times that I don’t want them to fold so for me they disappear into League 2 and 5 sides are promoted to League 1 instead of 4.

I don’t think even the staunchest Latics fan wants them to go out of business but they must be dealt with as severe as other clubs recently Swindon and Luton to name 2. Good idea that egg lad to let them regroup in Div 2 and promote 5th place or even don’t relegate the 4th place Div 1 team.

Pretty miserable for these people affectedIts totally unfair on the normal everyday folk who have worked in the offices, kiosks, bars, turnstiles etc.
Their last game at home they had 17300 on, with at least 5000 Villa fans.
Enough cash was generated that day from the Villa fans alone (£125K at least) to pay all the above mentioned staff a months wages, but I bet it went in someones back pocket instead.
