Looks like Bolton are in serious trouble again. Mr Holdsworth soon dipped out. Wonder how much money from the sale of the car park & training ground actually went to paying off the debt?
22 August 2017 at 2:11 am #161357So basically the ‘Pig Footers’ financed their promotion last season with money they didn’t have which is cheating in other words.
Been done before and will be done again unless the points deduction clubs get for going into administration is broadened to include this sort of cheating.22 August 2017 at 2:41 pm #161361It’s around 15 years ago and Leicester City competed in the Football League First Division after being relegated from the FA Premier League the previous season. Despite being placed into administration, Leicester managed to regain promotion to the Premier League.
Things have got tougher since but it’s a name lottery really. If your names Aldershot, Maidstone or Newport etc it’s tough. If it’s Bolton, Portsmouth or Leicester it’s a tradegy to lose these old traditional clubs.
Thank goodness for DW because we could have easily been in the same boat as the first group of clubs.
Now yes Pompey did suffer but they kept their club and ground but crippled many businesses with the debts they never payed back.22 August 2017 at 4:38 pm #161362Nobody laugh! I fear it could happen to us if the whelans pull out.

Doesn’t sound like holdsworth paid much if anything to the lender..
They will pay for this now though I suspect.24 August 2017 at 3:32 am #161439I don’t know why they haven’t been put down and had the points deduction.
If my businesses owed HMRC just a couple of thousand they would have me wrapped up within weeks, not years like these.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
