Not sure I get your logic there Vat.
A lad who has never played in England is a very clever signing in the toughest league in England.
Yet Hoolahan certainly, who has been there and done it in this league isn’t?

Yes, a lad who is an experienced 28 year old international, who has been playing in the Bundesliga, one of the top leagues in Europe. If he can play in the Bundesliga, I’m sure he will be fine in the Championship.
As opposed to a 36 year old who has been a bit part player at Norwich for 3 or 4 seasons, before being released. A ridiculous signing if we are to look to the long term.
It’s ridiculous you are even contesting this with me, Adam. It’s about time our fans started showing some ambition I think, instead of trotting along with the same old “we’ve no money” bollocks season after season, and putting up with crap like this.

Money or no money, we need experience at this level and Hoolahan has it. The future is also about what the younger members of a squad can learn from guys like him.
Riera could play in la liga but he was shite. As for the Bundesliga being one of the best leagues in Europe, I beg to differ based on the competitiveness and German clubs success in Europe Bayern aside.
16 July 2018 at 10:13 pm #170317It truly is remarkable how people on forums know all the private ins and outs of whats going on in a Football club, truly amazing
Because Bolton chairman Ken Anderson came out and clarified what the problem was, that’s how. The press were making it seem like all wages had been witheld. No. It was just Ben Amos’ wage that hadn’t been paid, along with bonuses due to the other players. Amos is among the top earners at the club, signed on a longer term contract about 4 seasons ago, so club are tied to keeping him.
Bolton manager Phil Parkinson has been very active this summer, but under the radar mainly. He’s just brought in a Polish international right back, Pawel Orlowski, who is 28 and has been playing in the Bundesliga. That’s a very clever signing, in my opinion.
Where as we are looking at the likes of Gibson and Hoolahan, which hardly inspires me. I think our scouting system needs a kick up the behind, once again.
Who is our chief scout now?[/quote]
Ben Amos joined Millwall on loan last Friday so they don’t need to worry about his wages for a while.

A shrewd move to get his wages off the payroll. Millwall must be paying at least 60% of it. Well managed.

18 July 2018 at 10:54 am #170368I support Latics.
But I think a lot of Latics fans are really bad pricks.
Therefore, I give up. Get fucked.
18 July 2018 at 11:04 am #170369Tend to agree, he is too old and same can be said for the three off on tour to Spain and two who have renewed contracts but again the truth is we really dont have a pot to piss in and these kind of players are all we can attract untill we know whats going on re this takeover.
Those facts Stuart pointed cant be ignored though Vat.18 July 2018 at 11:43 am #170370I support Latics. But I think a lot of Latics fans are really bad pricks.

Only 3 thing things in life are guaranteed. Death taxes and a Dave wobbler.

Those facts Stuart pointed cant be ignored though Vat.Colin Greenall was 36 when he got player of the year and man of the match at Wembley. Bear in mind players are far fitter these days.
Even if Hoolahan sits on the bench and offers us an alternative if it isn’t going right it will be better than we have now. How many times last season did everyone complain that our bench is weak?
No pleasing some people.18 July 2018 at 12:38 pm #170373I support Latics. But I think a lot of Latics fans are really bad pricks.

Why because we dont agree with the crap you come out with?
We’re doomed if the takeover happens
We’re doomed if Whelan stays in charge
We don’t sign any good players
England are gonna win the World Cup
Bolton are better than we are
Skem is great19 July 2018 at 9:25 pm #170433Yanic has gone to Bolton on loan. Maybe Vatty is right.
