does anyone think that the booing on the ground and the stick given to martinez and his players on here has had a positive effect tonight-after all where did that high energy performance and commitment come from tonight ?
could it be the fans reaction has been a kick up the backside for team martinez ?
i know you superfans are going to answer no-but which way do you want it after all its only last week you were all saying that slating martinez on here and booing at the ground was the reason we were playing like were.
9 March 2010 at 2:17 am #25735Nowt to do with the booing, I told the lads of our little bet and they can’t wait !
9 March 2010 at 2:23 am #25742I wondered how you would react to that performance. Clutching at more straws than a man whose just bought 8,000 McDonalds milkshakes. Admit it, we were good. That’s what we are trying to do, and when it works it’s fantastic. Yes we need a plan B, but lets get the plan A across to the team first.
No Melchiot = no bone idle defending = no goals conceded
Marvellous!9 March 2010 at 2:24 am #25743No, I don’t think that’s the reason we won today and produced arguably our best performance of the season. I personally think it’s because on our day we can compete with any team in this league and Roberto’s tactics (when they work) are the same as Arsenal, Chelsea, etc. A 4-4-3 attacking when going forward and a 4-5-1 defensive when we’ve not got the ball has worked a treat tonight and the rewards will follow. Be patient, keep supporting and we will see the benefits. Roberto is the man for the job, I have always believed in him and will continue to do so. We are, on our day a fantastic team with a fantastic manager. Keep the faith, what a fantastic night for Wigan Athletic. 4 years without beating a top 4 side and we beat 2 in 1 season. Doesn’t that tell you something? Well Done Wigan!

A 4-4-3 attacking when going forward
We should be kicked out of the league for playing that formation ;)

I think you have covered your ass quite well there loudmouth fairplay
9 March 2010 at 10:53 am #25775Or, LMB, the lack of booing actually encouraged the team to play withe more freedom and confidence. But as 32 says, a decent ass covering post. I bet it’s been sat in your drafts for a while waiting for a chance to make an appearance :)
