Hope it’s another “up and at em ” Blackburn start. Last night and last weekends topsy-turvy results again show how open this league is.A couple of back to back wins and play offs bekon,similarly a couple defeats and bottom 3 too close for comfort. Unbelievable Rovers lost 7 and top,2 good wins since last Tuesday ensure that. Our record against Boro is woeful and new manager soon to be appointed means a lot of their players will be out to impress. As repeatedly stati g our zero width/pace is a huge concern so a flying start would set us up. The Blackburn lads at work who went to Boro Saturday say 2nd half they were totally 2nd best and were quite impressed with them. Very dangerous opposition I think ,I hope we can irritate their recent lack of confidence. Be nice to put a team away early, and a few goals to boot but I think it’ll be close but hopefully edge it. Would like to see Scully given game time as he allegedly has pace and can go run at defenders.
Sat here….leaving soon to head to work. No words to describe that performance…….Worst defending I’ve seen in years…….totally gutless, talentless and shameful effort. League 1 is a distinct possibility……
First time I’ve left a match before an hour of play. I’m normally a glass half-full type but I’m with Mr B here! If we don’t put some of the players out of the side who are not good enough (naming no names) we are destined to go straight back down!

Add Cousens and that pathetic excuse for a goalkeeper to your list.
I thought Cousins was our best player tonight. Even our consistent players like Whatmough and Wyke were bad tonight.
I’d agree with the last post (although I only stayed for 58 mins. You can see that Cousins has played at this level for a while and I saw that in Shinnie during September. They should be our midfield two for me, let them play together for a few games and see how they go – they are both far better than Power and Naylor…
Whatmough had his worse game ever and we defended like an U18’s side. Not one player could walk off that pitch with his head held high.
To the Max Power haters ?, he works hard and makes mistakes like plenty others but last night he put 6-7 cracking crosses and corners right into the danger area, where was Wyke Keane etc ?.
I blame the summer recruitment and LR’s statement that he was going to give those L1 winning players a chance. 1 man and his dog knew we would struggle without 6-8 new signings all fighting for first team football.
Last night not one new player started the game from last seasons squad and the only one in the squad was Broadhead.
If those in power at the club thought last year’s team was good enough they need their heads wobbling.
So we’re 1-3 down clearly getting beat and he risks a clearly unfit Lang (was stretching minutes after coming on) and he does 14minutes before breaking down again.It’s the chop changing that kills me the magic roundabout Shinnie Naylor Magennis Tilt Kerr Bennett in out in out shake it all about we are never settled.
Me ?, I could see Whatmough was having a mare along with Darikwa so I would have brought on Naylor to cover in front of the defence and help out.
Negative ? yes but the way Whatmough was playing the writing was on the wall.We need pace and width so bad it’s scary,
McClean has gone, 1 league higher 1 year on all too much,
Bennett cannot defend,
Wyke is struggling, a good few balls went in the box last night and nothing came from it,
We needed a better recruitment of players in the summer and the lack of is now clearly showing. But for me the way we conceded last night was worrying against a struggling side
How many warnings did LR need ?….Surely our home record gave him enough proof that this continual chopping/changing was one reason for some shocking performances. After Cardiff he must have been as horrified as us with Bennetts disastrous efforts only to plop him back in again last night. Darikwa is a liability and those two’s inadequacies had an effect on a usually solid Whatmore. Amos needs a long rest ….I’d have got down quicker for their 3rd…christ he had enough time to see it homing in on goal. Totally agree our poor recruitment is biting us in the ars…Is Scully the next McGrath ?…..or the fact he has pace and trickery a no no for LR ?….All in all as a lot of us see it…..no pace anywhere…..no midfielder with vision…..no left back ….or not one he fancies…..Time for LR to put on his big boy pants and make some serious changes. No more Jo s for the old boys.

There’s a Paul Cook stubbornness creeping into LR’s starting 11 with a few players who, no matter how bad you play these favorites will always be first on the team sheet. As I pointed out, the poor performances are something that has slowly crept into our game which I put down to the players not been good enough for this League. I am not saying the club should have gone cheque book mad and spent spent spent over the summer but the lack off Championship level players or good young up and coming is clear for all to see.
With Pearce out of LR’s reckoning because he doesn’t like his style of play, Scully another impulse buy who will no doubt go out on loan in Jan before we even get chance to see what he can do and Wyke who I’m sorry to say is 2 yards slower we are heading for the bottom 3 over the next couple of games. Bennett and Darikwa are another 2 who regular leave both centre half’s open to the elements while Nyambe who’s only 24 sits in the stands twiddling thumbs simply because of LR’s loyalty. McClean turns his back on a free kick against Sunderland and they score the winner plus he was torn apart the whole game, a shocker but he starts on Weds.
Tactically LR baffles me, from his weekly chop n change starting 11 to the timing of his subs. That’s 2 weeks on the trot were our second half performance looked like our half time oranges were spiked. I’m not convinced a different manager would be able to fix the current problems because I blame the tools at hand as much as the manager who I don’t think utilises players to their max.
This combo of an inept manager and lack of Championship players will send us down for sure that’s unless we can crawl through to Jan and recruit and not only that

Well at least we now know. In Jan there is no hiding place for Leam and the board. Lets see then if they are serious about us staying in the championship. No buying players to boost the squad sign players to go straight in the side this will either make Leam or break him.
I though Cousins, McLean, Tilt and Aasgaard were the only ones to come it with some credibility from the starting 11.

Personally, I think Broadhead and Kerr were the only ones to come out with any credibility, the rest were shameful and should be made to give their wages to charity.
