I remember a Swansea fan on one of the latics forums after he’d joined us saying that for all he’d been worshipped down there, there were a few downsides to his reign.
One was the sides inability to close a game down (I think they drew way too many games in their Championship season) & another was the teams inability to defend set pieces which they said stretched back all his managerial time there & which no attempt seemed to have been made to rectify it.Any of that sound familiar??
Yeah but if a fan/fans can see this flaw and he can’t then it is time for Roberto to chuck it as a manager, and I can guarantee you this is not the case! We need a good defensive coach if this is the problem. I do however agree that our defense needs tightening up, Bramble is missed a lot if you ask me, but if we get our defense tightened I think our team in a whole will perform better and Martinez will be KING!
We have never had a settled back four and it shows in our stats..
However we should have the best defensive stats in the the league with the system Bobbie plays.. 1-9-1..Tevez and Messi would struggle with the system..Its a very poor prem this year and this could have been a great year for us.chin up!! Ive not been to Norwich and Bristol for ages.
