Think we realised after a few games he wasn’t good enough. Scoring against some Swedish amateurs doesn’t change that fact. Too slow, poor movement and easily bullied. Get rid!
And by the same token, if all the players got a run out tonight, which Bobby said they would, then the likes of Sammon, Moses, Zog, Di Santo, Macmanaman etc were not good enough on the night, to score against a bunch of swedish amateurs.?? :roll:

What a journey!Not a big fan of him but he is a prolific striker and getting capped by Argentina means he has something about him. The problem with him is he is wasted up top on his own, He would flourish with another attacker….or…………… A Wright-Phillips on the wing, We could utilise the wingers pace instead and feed the ball into his feet because he is a penalty box striker. I want us to bid for Wayne Routledge, Has pace, can finish and he can cross a decent ball. 1.5m is a bargain, even if used as a bit part player.

I first saw him at owdum in the pre-season friendly and he looked a real gem. All his good stuff was done in and around the box, not receiving balls round his throat 35 yards out with his back to goal.
I know it was only owdum :teasing-blah: , but lets see if he gets a chance. If he is still at the club come August 13th, I think we may see a different Mauro.

You’re right Micky, but not everybody can adapt easily. The history of the game is littered with failed players who couldn’t settle, for one reason or another. Think it a bit of a lame excuse myself, but it can happen

Not making excuses micky/griff and as you say the game is full of players that have failed.But how after a hand full of friendlys and league apperances can we say he isnt good enough, do you think he has had a good enough chance to prove himself ?

Yeah maybe, and maybe if he had played week in week out he may have done better. Maybe not.Maybe the £8k per week could have made him settle a bit quicker too, I think it would have helped me.
