Top effort from Blackburn, they’ve sold over 4,000 tickets so far for the game.
Let’s just hope the council can get the gritters out!!!
21 December 2009 at 10:44 pm #15780Can’t see the council gritting the perimeter of the ground(where we queue up) or the car parks mate.
21 December 2009 at 11:21 pm #15785they can hire a gritter and get the grit from booths at west houghton
22 December 2009 at 12:45 am #15791Can’t see the council gritting the perimeter of the ground(where we queue up) or the car parks mate.I walked round the perimeter of the ground today at about 1:30pm and it was just slush. The pathways around the retail park however were like a skating rink and yet shoppers were merrily pottering about with sticks and zimmers.
What a big load of tosh!!
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!22 December 2009 at 4:21 am #15797Football fans don’t ‘potter about’.
Tosh.
22 December 2009 at 5:24 pm #15864No they get to the ground, get sat down for 2 hrs then get back home. “pottering” round the shops is far more dangerous with all those heavy bags and stuff…. Tosh

What a journey!22 December 2009 at 5:34 pm #15866I just think they could have made more of a visible effort, over the weekend. Instead, too many people are already thinking of Turkey, and prawn vol aux vants.
However, I can accept the fact that come the end of the game, it would of frozen over again. The problem being, we now have ice-on-ice, and it’s not getting chance to thaw.
Seriously, if it keeps up, I can see Saturday being off as well. Let’s be honest, the stadium’s surroundings are cold and breezy at the best of times.

23 December 2009 at 2:46 pm #15940they can hire a gritter and get the grit from booths at west houghtonsomebody at the club must read this board ,they have hired there own snow plough/gritter for around the stadium just said on radio ;)
23 December 2009 at 3:57 pm #15941You can call me Michael Fish but I reckon all the ice and snow will have gone by Saturday. The match will definately be on.
23 December 2009 at 4:23 pm #15942Hope you’re right Sammy, and there is a big thaw.
Just been at the stadium and there’s a single JCB clearing snow from around the back of the East Stand. It’s still very slushy though.
The main car park has been cleared of loose snow, but it looks like the Cresta Run, and I wouldn’t risk putting my car on there.
The visitors’ car park hasn’t been touched.
23 December 2009 at 4:31 pm #15943Don’t be caught out by this bit of sunshine.
There’s another cold front with clouds moving in from the West. First bit of it hit Cumbria last night, the rest is said to be sweeping in behind it.
We’ll see.
23 December 2009 at 6:11 pm #15949The BBC weather says it is going to be pi55ing down on saturday.
24 December 2009 at 1:25 am #15960Like I said, another front moving in……….
24 December 2009 at 3:08 pm #15966I’ve just been down there with the dog. Unless he’s been for a brew the JCB driver has only just turned up and, put it this way, there is no fckin way I would put MY car on any of those car parks.
He seems to have abandoned them and is now shifting snow from the road adjacent the cut.Mind you the snow is thawing. -
