12 November 2018 at 9:11 pm #173051£35 is disgusting, but be thankful its your local game, with minimal travelling cost involved.
Go to the game and support your team, but buy nothing from the ground. It will cost you £35 plus whatever it costs on the bus – a fiver tops? That’s still cheaper than a £25 ticket at WBA and £20 to get there and back on a coach.
It’s the principle of it that sticks in the throat, rather than the actual cost.
Like you say, for most, it will be a cheaper day out than for instance West Brom, but Bolton have clearly bumped their ticket price up way beyond what they usually charge just because Wigan are in town and they’re (usually) guaranteed a full away end.
That’s what’s got the goat of most of those we are refusing to go – and it’s going to backfire on Bolton.
12 November 2018 at 9:11 pm #173052I reckon the pricing should be as follows. Three tier pricing based on league position at time of tickets going on sale. Top 6 club £30. Bottom 6 club £20 and the other 12 all £25. You then take the 2 clubs playing each other and base the price on the average of the 2. eg Top 6 side ( £30) playing bottom 6 side ( £20 ) = ticket price of £25. Two bottom 6 clubs playing obviously would charge £20 etc etc! Just an idea!Bloody hell, try and get that through Latics marketing department Phil(if we have one)
12 November 2018 at 9:13 pm #173053Egg would you pay £35 to watch wigan v saints don’t matter which ground but would you and please be honest with your answer
No I probably wouldn’t unless it was a final in which case I have paid it before but as you all love to tell me and anyone else that will listen, rugby league is a nothing sport that nobody cares about.
We are talking about the 2nd tier of the biggest sport in the country.[/quote]
And the £161 tickets at Twickers were for the year’s biggest international match in the country’s second biggest sport ;)13 November 2018 at 12:11 am #173057The team need and deserve ouŕ support at Bolton its an important game we need to win so support the team, make some noise and moan and gloat after because were not gonna change anything.
13 November 2018 at 1:02 am #173058It would get the footballer supporters view over pretty well if 3000 out of the 4000 that went to Preston travelled to Horwich, but stayed outside as a protest and listened to it on Wish FM.
I know it won’t happen, but somewhere down the line a fans group is eventually going to stand up to the clubs and their rip off pricing structures.

That simple.
Crowds don’t give you results, as we always tell everyone and as we’ve proved before with a full end at Bolton. 15 November 2018 at 7:42 pm #173082It could be worse
15 November 2018 at 9:13 pm #173085I’ve followed Latics home & away for 31 years now & during that time have spent a small fortune & even a period on the dole didn’t stop me missing a game between January 1997 to the end of that season
However, I have a limit that I will pay for a league game to watch Latics & 35 quid is beyond that. Its a down right rip off – I wouldn;t pay it if I still lived up north & I won’t pay that if one of the south east based games is the same cost.
I won’t knock anyone that does go, but comments like “the team needs your support” etc.. are precisely the emotional ties that rip off merchants like Bolton Wanderers count on to get away with charging that price (& its the same for their home support)
Boycotting games because of prices does change things if its concerted enough & we’ve seen that at LaticsEnjoy the game if you do go but don’t slag those off who are trying to make a stand & are refusing to pay that amount (or who genuinely can’t afford to pay that amount)
15 November 2018 at 10:18 pm #173086It could be worseI wouldn’t go to a Basketball, American football or an Ice Hockey match if they were free.
They’re all akin to RL…………..boring shite.
If any of the above are on television I turn over. I’d sooner watch F1, and that bores the tits off me.
Tennis is another, absolute bollox of a sport, and don’t even start me about Golf, hours and hours of televised sky.28 November 2018 at 2:54 pm #173435I will not be going to Bolton,im a fan not an idiot.
28 November 2018 at 3:52 pm #173441I will be going to Bolton, I’m a fan, not an idiot ;)
28 November 2018 at 4:03 pm #173442I will not be going to Bolton,im a fan not an idiot.I think both those points are open to discussion.
28 November 2018 at 10:45 pm #173461I’m going, but to be fair it’s my first away this season and it helped that the Mrs is on a Xmas shopping trip, so I thought I’d have do.
Strangely I can’t say I’m really looking forward to it now, whether that’s because I’m resentful at the price paid or just underwhelmed by our last ten matches and our
appalling away form, I’m not sure -
