Well done to them!!

      Yes, well done to them.

I have friends who are Bradford supporters, and they’ve stuck with them as they fell back down the leagues again…..what price loyalty?

Bradford are a bit like ourselves, in that they have a rugby club in their town as well and a public that can be as apathetic as our lot. The story that I always tell was relayed to me by my friend when he joined us in the away end at Valley Parade the last time we played there, a nil nil draw in front of 7 thousand and odd.

The previous Tuesday they had been at home and had let people in for free….and 19,000 had turned up!

A potentially big club, I hope they enjoy their day. Would be superb if they won.

The big difference is that people in Bradford support both teams

I’m not sure that my friends are bothered about the rugby. I recall in about 2001/2 when I went up there and arrived at Bradford Interchange, there were big banners that read “Welcome to Bradford, home of Bradford Bulls” or something like that, with their big logo on. Not a mention of City.

My mate reckoned the rugby players swanned around their like they owned the place….sound familiar? Told me how Robbie Paul had gone in Boots and had forgotten his wallet. He was all “you know who I am?” trying to get stuff for free….they didn’t fall for it.

Might have got away with that in Wigan, though.

I totally agree imagine Bradford in Europe which could be possible if Chelsea beat the Swans and finish in the top 4

By that logic, we would have got in to Europe when Manchester United beat us in the league cup final. You’re getting confused with the FA Cup.
Am I your going on filadelphias list now you rotter but it was said on talkshyte that if that was the case a Chelsea /Bradford final and should Chelsea finish top four Bradford would be in Europe if I’m wrong blame them
It used to be the case that the runner up got into Europe if the winners had qualified by some other route but they changed it the year Latics got to the final – b*****ds!!

You are wrong. In the event of that likely scenario then the next best placed club in the Prem would go into the Europa League !
Correct. You have to win the league cup to be in Europe.
I don’t think it’s a case of saying they support both teams coz some football fans just don’t like rugby league as a sport & vice versa. I also don’t think that they’ll be that many more from one club who actively pay to watch the other club just coz it’s too expensive.
What you don’t seem to have is the animosity between the 2 hardcore sets of fans that we have in Wigan – I know both clubs have helped each other out in the past – Bradford Northern let City play at Odsall after the Valley Parade fire disaster & City let the Bulls play at Valley Parade when Odsall was being done up so maybe they just don’t have the historical bad blood there for whatever reason (I remember buying a programme at Tranmere in the early 90’s & it had a quote in it from a Wigan Athletic manager saying “They don’t like them & they certainly don’t like us” from the 1950’s so it goes back a bit).

Incidentally I went past the Odsall ground last year on my way to Bradford Park Avenue (who play virtually next door) – what an absolutely fecking huge site that is yet you can barely see the stadium from street level. Built on an extinct volcano apparently
