Brenda will be retiring in the Summer. Will be announced soon by the club
4 May 2010 at 5:29 pm #31764Is that just a stab at getting peoples hopes up or is that really true. Hope it is.
4 May 2010 at 5:31 pm #31765No its really true in fact its on the official site now
4 May 2010 at 7:12 pm #31785Just seen on front of paper too.
I’ll be a bit sorry about that. She at least was with the club all the way up the leagues, and knows what it means to the ordinary supporter to be where we are.
Bring in a new-style Chief Executive who will see us (the fans) as a commodity for a world-wide brand name, and I think we’ll be worse off.
I think we should be grateful to Brenda for all she’s done.

Isn’t Peter Kenyon out of work?
No, seriously, I agree with what you say, GL.
A very serious and important question, though……………….
….who’s going to brew up, now? :D
Not really her fault, her ‘shortcomings’ in the role. Afterall, she has worked her way up from doing the books for Kenyon. To go from that, to being a Chief Executive of a Premiership football club is some progression. Good luck to her in her retirement. But I do hope we employ someone with some serious ‘ability’ in the post. Or else we could hold a press conference this summer, with THREE empty chairs. :o LOL!
4 May 2010 at 7:32 pm #31791Just looked at official site and it says she will retire at end of July.
What’s the chances we start the season without a new Chief Executive in place? or, dare I say it, a certain person ‘holding the reigns’?

A lot would depend on Whelan’s appetite for upsetting folk but I can easily see that happening.
4 May 2010 at 7:40 pm #31797The paper seemed to indicate that Whelan had someone in mind already. :?
4 May 2010 at 7:42 pm #31799She’s probably had enough of the sexual harassment Dave’s been giving her.
Don’t be surprised if the replacement is a hot Swedish model bought of the internet.

I think Brenda must know where the bodies are buried!
However, as you rightly say, she’s been with the club through thick and thin and shares an affinity with all those who fondly remember the times past.
Is Mr Hayton not in the running?
4 May 2010 at 10:22 pm #31838Whilst that pillucks name has been brought up, split my sides at Monday’s game. I had a bit of corporate pampering and sat in the comfy seats for the second half. Doris was sat just to my left and about 5 yards in front of him was a lad with a tics top on with “Lindsay out” printed on the back. He was stood up for long periods and must have agggravated the little shyte to death.
Now it might bi owd hat, but I normally sit further down so its the first time I’ve seen this. Me and my mate spotted it and began laughing our heads off and pointing, ML turned his head saw our reaction which made him even more pished of.
To that lad, I tip mi hat to yer. Very funny, very funny indeed monFrom Matlock to ManU
