6 years ago this lad was on loan to us -he was then given a free transfer at the end of the season and it was rumoured he may come to us -any thought of this was dismissed because it was felt he was no longer good enough.
today he was part of an attack that could and should of scored 7 or 8 goals against us.
shows just how far we have come in such a short time.
15 August 2010 at 2:54 am #42597Marlon Harewood – not played for I dont know how long, no pre season with the Villa, not fit and overweight
in fact a bit of a lump – but gave our two ‘international’ (I use the term loosley) centre backs a torrid time

He wanted to go – and that’s why he went.
Also, he was the highest paid player at the club and saved a small fortune in letting him go.

still has no defensive coach as far as I can see – the man is so stubburn, the whole defence and defensive midfield area is a joke
cant wait for the fans forum – thats if he is around that long

I’m sure that was Dennis Lawrence with the blue latics tracky on working with the lads in the warm up. I remember the big lazoom scoring against us for wrexham quite a few years back. If he’s our new defensive coach, then yesterdays performance says it all.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!15 August 2010 at 4:18 pm #42692A bit in last nights WEP about last season’s defensive record – the most goals conceded in the Premier League without being relegated (76? can’t remember and I’ve passed it on). martinez’s response was that he couldn’t care if we shipped 100 as long as we imporve as a team. That’s encouraging!
15 August 2010 at 4:28 pm #42693Brett Ormerod is bad player. Hence his back heel air shot in front of an open goal. He was made to look like Pele by our shocking defending, as did Taylor-Fletcher, Harewood…
In short, Blackpool looked amazing because we were so bad, they’ll get a shock in the next few weeks when they realise that they’re not that good.
But we were simply awful, and that’s as bad a performance as I’ve ever seen from any team.
