Like it or not, there is undoubtably some talent on this show.
I’d like people to post their suggestions of people that are already established celebrities/performers that would remain nobodies and not get through the first audition of this or any X-Factor type show if they didn’t have their status. I’ll start with two:

I take it you’re not a fan of the Libertines then?

Mr Walker…Doherty is a terwat, whatever group he was in – hopefully the group he now finds himself in will discover that (even as a fella) he has “ahem” a terwat…….lucky drop in the shower for someone.

No I’m not, as it happens. They had one or two good songs and that’s it. The point is, regardless of whether Doherty is a two hat or not (which he is), he would not get through an audition for the village fair talent competition. Along with Cheryl Cole. And Victoria Beckham. And Ian Brown.
I find myself having to defend (a little bit) Doherty here, yeah he’s a bit of a sh1t who wears daft clothes, but he and the Libertines made some of the best tunes of the noughties….
Britain’s got tallent and x-factor are just commercial machines, aimed at providing low level entertainment, at best a Kareoke and pub tallent nights , so that the stupid masses can buy into it and make the producers and owners money.
Congratulation on them for making money on this, but how stupid are the people who like it. I never thought ITV could sink lower.

opportunity knocks – new faces – search for a star -not forgetting saturday night variety shows in the 60s, 70s, 80s always had a spot for an unknown, even granadas own comedians show was the launch of many comics, itv have been at this talent show lark for many years and like it or not quite a few decent artists have come out of the woodwork from all those shows, this isnt some simon cowell new invention.
dont kid yourself there have been plenty tv/record company manipulated talentless nobody’s endorsed by stupid masses over the years without talent shows like x factor, remember there is a first audition for every act that ever lived, either in the back room of a grotty pub, on live tv or on stage in an empty theatre, perhaps it may even have been on a casting couch – so why not let joe public be entertained by it, what else do you suggest to replace things like that on tv.
ITV have never had such a poor business model that they have to resort to fixing phone in competitions and selling their sole to promote Simon Cowells empire, next step is the product placement on shows and extended advert breaks.
Maybe people should do something more positive with their time than watch that sh*te

so as i asked you before what type of programs do you suggest – its obvious you dont like that type of show – but as i said ITV have a long history of talent shows – the bbc are no better dancing, skating, singing and cooking competitions galore – tv in general is at its lowest ebb not just ITV so i ask you again what do you suggest.
I suspect most of the problems are down to budgets, and the lack of investment in taking risks. ITV have to be commercially sensitive and at least the BBC are not held to account in the same way.
If you look at the quality of Dramas and programmes such as DR Who, good ratings in the UK but are able to be sold world wide and make profits for the BBC.
Personally I would like to see more inovative thinking in the programming, tv shows that make you think and expand your mind. Rather than just throw away junk TV that ITV generally come out with.

If somebody likes a programme (& the acts it pushes into the limelight) then who is anybody else to tell them that they are stupid for doing so??
