Yeah, and he’s got a 15 goal striker in Bent; but it doesn’t count for much, cos they’re only 1 point above us !!!!!!!!!!!
Personally think they have a tough run in as well. Wouldn’t it be nice if our Tesco bargains finish above the Harrods finest range. :lol: :lol: :lol:Looking at it sensibly, I can see why he fancied the job there. A bigger club than us, a new owner with money to burn, and a large fan base and media profile. Don’t really blame him.
However, with all those plus sides, comes a big demand for quick results, and more pressure to deliver from fans, and club owners, as well as rewards for the money invested in expensive signings. I mean, Darren Bent is a half-decent striker, but there is no way you would pay 16 million for him. I wouldn’t even spend that on him on ‘Football Manager’, and that money isn’t real, LOL!
Their target this season was to be hovering around the Europa League qualification places. But despite a decent start to the season, it hasn’t happened. Have to say that Cattermole has been a fantastic signing for them, hasn’t he? :roll:
So if he get’s sacked, where next for Jim McDonald-Head?
It was more in the way of £10m for Bent with a couple of add-ons that will probably not come to much as:
a. We wont qualify for Europe!
b. He wont get picked for England.Having said that, if it wasnt for his 15 goals, we’d be really in the sh it.
I would be very disappointed if SB was sacked. There is a minority of our fans who think we have a god-given right to be top-half material, whilst the vast majority are more realistic. He inherited a lot of dead wood that was Roy Keane’s panic buy scattergun approach to player selection. Bruce’s Harrods purchases have generally been good ones, but getting them to gel with the donkeys that Keane bought from Aldi & Netto has proved nigh on impossible.
I expect us to continue to flirt with the bottom 3 until mid April, when we have Burnley at home followed by Hull Away, at which point we will have retained our premiership status. Another transfer window of shipping out the crap and buying half-decent players will see an improvement next season, and if it is still going Pete Tong in 12 months’ time, then maybe he’ll get the bullet.
The rumour mill is in full swing that short is getting fed up with elephant head and he,ll be gone very soon…… :lol: :lol: :lol:
If Bruce gets sacked,it wouldnt surprise me one bit if Whelan tried to get him back here……
