Been watching Children in Need tonight, heart breaking to hear some of the stories and to see children suffering with serious illnesses. I have no problem with giving or raising money for charity, long may it continue.
I was absolutely flabbergasted watching the 10pm news that a quarter of a Billion (yes Billion) pounds is to be spent on the refurbishment of Buckingham Palace, where the fuck do our priorities lie in this country?
Really makes my blood boil that we the tax payer don’t get a say in this!
Fuck the EFL

It is just a big fancy Council House really, where the landlord is responsible for its up keep.I bet she wishes she did own it, she would get a few bob for it with the size and location.
22 November 2016 at 8:34 pm #152591A conservative estimate recently valued Buckingham Palace at £5 billion.
The Queen’s personal wealth has been debated many times (perhaps not on here mind  ).
Whilst Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse are state property (and as Horc rightly says, the state’s responsibility via the Crown Estate), Sandringham House and Balmoral Castle are the Queen’s private property.Whilst those 2 properties can be valued on paper, it is impossible to calculate what some Arab or Russian Oligarch would pay to for them.
I’ll turn into a Republican if someone can show me anyone who could have done the job as well as Her Majesty has done, for that length of time, for that value for money. For me Britain without a monarchy is unthinkable.

Well said Leyland, she and her immediate family (Phil included) are worth every penny.
We should be proud of our Royal Family, other nations would kill to have them.
The amount of money they generate for this country dwarfs the cost of having them, and the amount of work they do promoting this green and pleasant land is outstanding.
Keep it up Lizzy, you are a credit to your country.
Long live the Queen and the Monarchy!!!23 November 2016 at 12:49 am #152598How many fuckin houses does she need?
Let the taxpayer pay for the refurbishment of BP then use it as a hostel for the homeless ex military that have also served and been a credit to Queen and country!
Fuck the EFL
23 November 2016 at 2:46 pm #152600The Queen has over 17 Trillion quid invested in depleted uranium and weapons trades! Let that one sink in a bit and see if you still think she and her family are the proverbial ‘Bee’s Knees’ !!

23 November 2016 at 3:24 pm #152602I think the Modern Royal Family have strengthened the Nations love and respect for the Monarchy and they have become more accessible and grounded. It seems that a lot of the pomp and ceremony has been replaced by more beneficial duties carried out by the Royals the World over.

No one is above criticism and the Queen is very aware of that.
Let’s face it, if Jesus Christ turned up tomorrow in Wigan for the unveiling, someone would have a go at him for encouraging wine drinking
