Horc, that was some of the worst football I have ever seen the other night pundits and ex pros have been saying that when Rooney plays it slows the play down. How the fcuk could they have played any slower while he was on the bench?. I understand in the league that has so many foreign managers and players that these negative formations suit the clubs but in international games every player is English the manager is English and the best we can be is English. Passing seven bells of shite out of the ball is not our way it is horrible to watch. Get back to doing it the way all our players were coached as youngsters. We are England so lets be fookin English not Italian, Spanish etc.

Because it’s not as if the Italians or Spanish have done better than England at international level is it?!

Seriously though, a majority of that England squad play for top-eight clubs and are used to playing continental style football under foreign managers.

But then, the FA in their wisdom appoint managers who either aren’t used to that style of football, or who have never coached players of that calibre.

I reckon Big Sam would have got them hard to beat, but f’ck me, it would have been horrible to watch.

For me, the next England manager has to be Wenger.

Hope Jake Buxton can continue how he finished the Wolves game with that wonderful pass.
Precision passing like that can unsettle any midfield and defence and if he can continue like that with Will on his lonesome and an attacking midfielder along side or just behind him we could stroll games.

Unfortunately few players are able to execute accurate long passes like that regularly, and I suspect that if Buxton attempted that pass every time he got the ball, a vast majority of the time he’d give it straight to the opposition for them to come at us.

And if he could get it right a majority of the time, he wouldn’t be playing for Wigan Athletic.

That’s why we keep the passes short and try to retain possession – much to the distaste of many of the current posters on Cockney Latic.

A lot of the short passes are sideways & backwards. Think what most fans would like to see is a quicker tempo, and a purpose to the passing, not passing for the sake of it.
Whether you are a current posters on Cockney Latic or a fan at the ground both seem to be saying the same.

It’s quite a simple theory isn’t it, if we have the ball, no matter where on the pitch, it means the opposition haven’t and therefore will find it hard to score.

Unfortunately our defence hasn’t been the tightest and so when the oppo ultimately do get some possession we have conceded. We need the defence to be solid.

On the other side, if we had more shots (especially on target) the passing would be deemed worthwhile, but we have lacked there also.

We are fickle (fans) and was loving the passing last season, because we were winning against teams that couldn’t cope. We are now in a league that can cope and so need to be more clever.

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

When you have one of the best strikers in the division it is criminal not to get him in the game as much as possible. Playing sideways and backwards is not going to utilise Will,s eye for goal. I wonder how he would have done with big Emile as a partner?. I reckon he would get a pon full in a more attacking formation so lets use Will,s talent to the full.

Last season wasn’t all roses but at times there was some good entertaining football. I think last season once we settled down (around December) we played some good stuff, especially away. Off course though last season we were not scared of any side in the league but this time the drab possession football may be just the side being cautious against better sides. But I did think we had got shut of players that were not considered good enough and replaced them with players that were so there is no need to be so cautious. I am pretty sure that if we had played at an higher tempo this time with the better squad we wouldn’t have been any points worse off and would have been a lot more interesting to watch.

GC started last season pretty slow as well jayt and he got some stick early doors. He did turn it around and we played some good stuff and as you say no complaints.

As for defence, GC seems to have found a settled trio which is working.
As for shots on target, that will only improve if we get forward quicker and utilize Grigg more. As Nuneaton says, we don’t get the ball to him anything like as much as we should be.

I’m predicting us to go 2-0 up then concede one only for them to push for the equaliser and let us in for a 3rd! Yep 3-1 is my prediction!

That’s got to be two points dropped in my opinion. Even though Burton had one cleared off the line….

We were really poor for the first 15mins, all over the place. Grew into the game, gradually, and looked like scoring near the very end. GC needs to address his tactics as most of our efforts on goal came near the end of the game. We need to be creating chances from the start!

Burton didn’t offer a great deal today, but they still leave the DW with a point. Their best chances came from our incompetence.

Two really big games coming up next, the picture will look really bleak if we lose both of them..

We grew into the game because Burton tired.
We did put in a shift in the last quarter, but still couldn’t break them down.
And as for Bogdan? He is indecisive, but when he does make a decision it’s wrong. If we do have a financial penalty clause to pay if he doesn’t play a certain number of games, then I would pay it and get Juusi back in nets. You can hear Juusi shouting, cajoling, directing, encouraging. From Bogbrush? Nothing.

Couldn’t agree more. What the hell was he thinking coming so far out for that attempted clearance??!! what goes through his mind?

I said the same about Bogdan earlier in the season, i could see back then he was a big mistake, some on here said i was being negative and to give him time, he hasn’t got any better and doesn’t look like doing!

                    Fuck the EFL

Decent shot stopper but awful at everything else. How the hell is he keeping Jussi out the team?!!

Hes worse than that vladimir bloke we had

                      #151487

There has to be a reason he is keeping Jussi out of the team and it is certainly not down to form or talent.
