Breaking news
22 April 2014 at 1:24 pm #130143Another reason not to feel too bothered should we not go back up !
22 April 2014 at 1:29 pm #130144Should have been given more time IMO. It took fergie 4 seasons before he started winning things, but i suppose this is the sad reflection of modern football.

When Ferguson was appointed United hadn’t won the league for 19 years, the were 21st in the division, their youth set up had been almost dismantled under Atkinson & since May 1968 their “only” silverware had been 3 FA Cups. He had a very low starting point & United began to make progress on & off the pitch under him.
When Moyes was appointed, United had just gone through a period of almost unparallelled success for the best part of 20 years. Yes their star players were ageing & some of the younger ones aren’t up to the standards of those they’re replacing but those same players won the league last season by a margin of 11 points & with 89 points. This season they will just about scrape into the 60’s.
Theer are rumours that Moyes has “lost” the trust of some of the star players & even when Ferguson came in & went to town on & then shipped out some of United’s big names (& alleged big boozers) you never got those rumours.Basically, ferguson took a low achieving club & started to progress them in all aspects even in those years that they didn’t win anything. Moyes has took last year’s champions & is unlikely to even get them into the Europa League positions this season. 2 completely different scenarios

Moyes was the wrong man, pretty much everyone knew it. The deluded Man u board and Fans actually believed in Ferguson is the only shock.
Pity he has gone as Man Utd this season has made everyone smile.
