Am not one to advocate cheating, but fair play to the lad for his last ditch attempt to prevent Stoke’s equaliser. For me he just tried to make himself big and the ball hit his hand – far cry from something like Suarez’s deliberate handball vs Ghana.
He’s no Arry, but of late I feel he’s definitely starting to wear his colours.
3 January 2012 at 1:09 pm #76758Sadly, his absence probably means a return for Gouhouri.

3 January 2012 at 3:57 pm #76766Boyce hasn’t been dropped, he’s out of action for one reason or another – so he’s unavailable.
Good job you’re not Bob eh Phil?

The ball hit his hand which happens and he got sent off you win some and lose some of those decisions, i agree he as looked a better player with 3 centre backs at home

that sensas magic is really gud stuff
4 January 2012 at 1:04 pm #76878Far from being a great personal sacrifice for the team what it actually was was rank amateur defending.
As a defender you should never charge out like that, arms raised, coz its asking to have a penalty awarded against you. Not only did he make the mistake against Liverpool but he then repeated it 10 days later.
Compare it to the Chelsea defender charging down Moses shot who deliberately moved his arms to his side & even though he turned into the ball & it struck his arm (like the ball struck Caldwell) there was no way the ref was going to give a penalty for itThese 2 mistakes are in all honestly blots on an otherwise good set of performances since Bobby switched to 3 at the back but I think to paint it as the original poster has is a bit wide of the mark
4 January 2012 at 5:29 pm #76901If Caldwell had been more vigilant he would have known that his keeper was right behind him ready to gratefully collect the effort !!

Caldwell either knew what he was doing or was just being very naive !! At the end of the day like the majority of our defenders, he is a liability and not up to the task in my opinion and many others it would seem !
7 January 2012 at 12:59 am #77113… and as I have said to a few people – if the goalkeeper was behind him ready to collect the ball it is a yellow card at the most – there is definitely a refereeing conspiracy against us at the moment
