In fact; get him installed before Saturday; with Gary Neville alongside.
26 October 2016 at 1:59 am #151804Giggs would be a gamble but you can bet he will try to attack, none of this slow continental build up gash. Only if he can bring in his own coaching staff. Be an interesting appointment.
26 October 2016 at 2:11 am #151806Giggs for me !
He’s got to know a bit about football and he’s got pulling power if we need to attract better players; and might pull a few more fans in too.You don’t play for Man Utd and work alongside Fergie & Co without learning something. Let’s get in there before the Wolves.
Please Lostock tell me you’re on a wind up he’s less experience than Caldwell, a big NO from me!
Fuck the EFL
26 October 2016 at 2:14 am #151807It’s Carl Robinson. Will be announced before Friday. Sharpe wanted him before but he had unfinished business at MK dons.
26 October 2016 at 2:46 am #151810Karl feckin Robinson????
I freakin well hope not. A 2 bit league 1 manager who completely & totally flopped in his only Championship season and who even his own Chairman was slagging him off at the end of last season.
Then makes a complete balls up of his return to league 1 & gets the push.
And yet the rumour is that Sharpe rates him??? I hope a rumour is all it is26 October 2016 at 2:55 am #151811So we have sacked a manager that had to clear out all the dead wood and start again on a low budget and in league 1 and who was being shouted at for the sack around this time last year.
he then turns it round wins the title in a league that is a graveyard for former premier league clubs and takes the club into a league with clubs spending 50 million on players without batting an eyelid.
He has the expected poor start and struggles to find a rhythm but this is precisely what he did last season so I like a few others thought he will turn it around at some point given his superb track record so far.
He has a narrow defeat at the weekend against a team in second position and one of the promotion favourites and all hell breaks loose on social with crys of sack him and the like.
He was superman a few weeks back but in this new world you have to win every game to be safe and it’s getting worse.
Good luck GC you gave us one of the most memorable seasons EVER watching the mighty tics and for that alone you deserved a bit more time and a bit of patience.
Very bad move in my opinion not that bothered who comes in anymore the game is fecked26 October 2016 at 3:37 am #151813Brave decision by the Chairman, personally thought Gary would have been given a little more time to turn things round. Really hope our new boss isn’t Robinson and that having seen him sacked, Sharpe hasn’t panicked into sacking Caldwell and having a ready-made replacement. Not sure what Robinson would bring if its him, He has proved he cant handle Championship and just don’t see that working.
Have a feeling it might be Graeme Jones…not sure why. Not sure who I want, just hope the Chairman has thought long and hard and has a plan in mind to take us forward and that its not a knee-jerk decision. Good luck Gary and thanks
26 October 2016 at 5:40 am #151819now get someone half decent in quick!
Straight-forward question. Who do you consider to be half decent.
Personally i would prefer someone to be DECENT as opposed to being half decent. Shame for GC as i would have liked him to turn it around. Still we move on!!![/quote]
It’s a figure of speech but obviously not in Runcorn! ;)

Giggs rather than Karl Robinson, who has bucket loads of experience:

For me it’s got to be Giggs. If there’s one thing he will get is player respect which goes along way in this game plus the odd wonderkid from Man Utd. He will get that needed experience without moving home so he’s primed to hoist Mourinho who seems to be making a mess of things
But I’m in no doubt it will Karl Robinson, there’s no coincidence in Caldwell’s sacking just after Robinson’s plus he’s a free agent. There’s a link there with our 2 players there on loan so I’m pretty sure Sharp’s had plenty of time to talk to the guy and suss him out.
Jimmy Bullard at 50/1 ? now there’d a be a good laugh
I see Joe Parkinson is in at 16’s , cheap inhouse option ?27 October 2016 at 1:41 am #151850Watching the goals on Youtube Sunday and it panned to GC and I’ve got to say his demeanour on the touchline reminded me of Roy Hodgson against Iceland.
Not good to see for him nor the fans as he looked worried & like he didn’t know what to do!I’ve no idea who is best to replace GC. Some of the names mentioned sound good / high profile, but do they or will they have the knowledge of the Championship to do anything?
Let’s hope Sharpy makes the right decision.

Let’s face it; on Saturday there were 9,000 managers walking off the DW at the final whistle, and all of them were saying things like:
Why couldn’t he see which substitutions would have been the right ones to make.
Why did he not start with Jordi.
He’s watching a different game than us.
How hard can it be to instruct a football team.So come on; it can’t be that hard to get us playing the correct style of football; especially with the decent selection of players that we have !

27 October 2016 at 5:44 pm #151870I think it’s all part of the story of what’s happening at our club, we’d all be board supporting another club.
