Martinez would have been crucified if he had played kone,di Santo and other regulars and got injured in the process, but after that display it must be clear to him certain players are not good enough and must be moved on

Going off your comment re players not good enough should be moving on, who do you think should be moving on ? This question is for anybody who might be reading this. I will start the ball rolling with Watson who in my opinion is not good enough for Prem football !

        My peeve for the day.

        People who simplify complicated issues.

Its all good and well saying who should move on.

And to answer your question if I was as trigger happy as you it would be Boselli, Crusat, Watson and Stam.

        In reality Crusat and Stam.

Most were happy to see Diame on his way but I bet many would prefer him sat on the bench nowadays.

The question I put back to you is who do we replace these players with?????

Regarding Watson I replied on another thread what was he doing in Central defence although he didn’t do to much wrong

I thought Watson and Ramis actually looked ok. considering the attacking play against them was somewhat limited with Bradfords two lines of 4 in their own third. They coped well with what was asked of them.

We played ok – there are lots of criticism of our play, but actually we dominated from start to finish. we just couldnt hit their barn door.

reminded me of chelsea beating barca in champions league

with regards to players who i think were identified as not having enough to stand up against a weak bradford set up – for me; Dave Jones never gave us enough in the middle. I d look at moving him on along with Lopez. on a number of ocassions last night Gomez received the ball to a chorus of boo’s and get off. but – i’ll stand up for him on this one. He had no wigan player moving into space , offering support or even interested in taking the ball off him. So in this instance i’ll leave Gomez alone. he was no poorer than the rest.

            just one of those days.

When we spank spurs on sturday – we’ll forget all about this and look forward to challenging for europe

            Agree with you 100%.

The only shortcoming in the game was we tried to pass it into the goal on occasion.

It was like a game of ‘unopposed’ at times, and Gomez’s performance does’t warrant half the criticism directed his way.

Agreed about Gomez but alas Wigan Supporters are renound for having a scapegoat be it Gomez or Ramis on more than one occasion

Just for the record, my opinion of Watson is based on all of his displays for WAFC. On the whole he has not convinced me that he is good enough for Premier league football. Who would I replace him with ? A better player ! Perhaps we should have made an attempt to lure Karl Henry or even Steven N’Zonzi last Summer. Circa 3.5 million would have been money well spent in my book !

Yes, really ! Far better holding midfielder than Watson, far better !

PS If he had signed for us then ” That Challenge ” would have been water under the bridge ! :)

I’m not a lover of slagging any latics players. But i have to agree with filmoss that Watson is shocking. He can’t take corners, free kicks or going off last nights game even pass a ball.
What’s the point of having a calm looking bloke on the pitch who keeps giving the ball away?
