Anybody know why this match is being played on Friday night?
It isn’t on the box as far as I can see.5 December 2017 at 3:26 pm #163942I’d imagine that it was a request from Latics in order to give the players an additional days rest between this game & the one on New Year’s Day – & Charlton agreed
5 December 2017 at 6:25 pm #163953I’d imagine that it was a request from Latics in order to give the players an additional days rest between this game & the one on New Year’s Day – & Charlton agreedApart from Donny v Rochdale who also have a 7 45 ko everybody else seems to have stuck with the Saturday kick off.
Not impressed by this decision as I dislike Winter night matches and am very surprised that Charlton have agreed to the swap as it’s their fans that will be most put out it will also reduce the amount of away fans, I would have expected a decent following of Charlton fans for a Saturday match.
Will probably vote with my feet.5 December 2017 at 8:59 pm #163954I’d imagine that it was a request from Latics in order to give the players an additional days rest between this game & the one on New Year’s Day – & Charlton agreed

Why not home, away, home, away right through the season. Not that it’ll make much difference at all to the crowd. The £24-00 price tag after the £24-00 on Boxing day will ensure very few extra being attracted to the match.5 December 2017 at 10:41 pm #163955Why not home, away, home, away right through the season.Because you’d not be able to play the other 11 clubs who have home/away fixtures at the same time as you.

Many thanks for the polite answer to my question Mutty, without the need for a flippant or sarcastic answer.6 December 2017 at 8:30 pm #163960Ive a ST, but if the weather is bad, I.E. snowy and freezing, I’ll be tempted to give this one a miss I’m afraid. The temptation of left over turkey and quality street and staying in watching crap telly will probably be too much.
6 December 2017 at 8:45 pm #163961You’ll count on the gate anyway. I’ll be going, then back home for further gluttony.
6 December 2017 at 10:39 pm #163962Live at the top of a steep hill in Horwich so if any white stuff about i’ll get a good dose, season ticket staying in the wallet for this one.
