I understand about the attraction of Wembley as a venue and all that, but I read yesterday that Shrewsbury had sold 12000 tickets. I am thinking Lincoln will have sold similar, so even with a few neutrals going in, we are looking at a crowd around 30k, certainly less than 40k.
What is the point in having folk traipsing down to Wembley for that. Why not play the game at another venue, one that will be near capacity, with some atmosphere, rather than playing in a stadium with 60 odd thousand empty seats? Seems very ridiculous to me.
8 April 2018 at 6:42 pm #168069Couldn’t see us selling 12000 for that trophy

If that is true vat, i wonder if their local newspaper runs a similar “Pathletic” headline like the one we had in 1999.
8 April 2018 at 7:46 pm #168073Played anywhere else ticket sales would be far less. I think Lincoln had sold double what Shrewsbury had.
8 April 2018 at 7:48 pm #168074Not sure if there is a Rugby Post in Salop.
8 April 2018 at 8:01 pm #168075Bet you didnt say that when we took 7k in 99
8 April 2018 at 9:04 pm #168078Bet you didnt say that when we took 7k in 99We took more than 7k, that’s a rugby fed myth. Millwall had 45k behind them.
8 April 2018 at 9:04 pm #168079Have the wheels now fallen off the Shrews wagon?
Will losing this, and finding themselves behind us and Rovers now give them the wobble we want them to have?8 April 2018 at 9:15 pm #168082We need to win tuesday the i think it will be pressure on the shrews._ thing is tuesday will be a tough game

The last couple of weeks, a lots started to unravel with them. Suspensions, injuries…Captain Agogo has been ruled out for the season. I’ve thought all season they’ve vastly overperformed, given their relatively shallow in depth, squad. Suddenly, the be slipped up here and there and it seems a bit of self doubt has set in. I read their board where the consensus now is “we’ve done so well to challenge the ex premier league giants at the top”. Not as confident as they were, that’s for sure. They are playing away on Thursday night at Bradford, before playing 3 home games on the bounce against Charlton, Bury and Peterborough.
8 April 2018 at 9:54 pm #168084Or.. could have a positive effect on them ie “We lost the final lets make sure we get promoted” And could galvanise them…
8 April 2018 at 10:53 pm #168085As it’s been said many times promotion is down to us and if they trip up just see that as a little bonus. They stand a very good chance of winning all their games so we should to then we are up.

Ok then. 8k.
And regardless how many millwall ‘fans’ were there I bet you still didn’t say it should be at somewhere like Maine Rd that held 30k.
8 April 2018 at 11:18 pm #168087Could be the catalyst that gets them promoted. I still wouldn’t be writing them off.
9 April 2018 at 1:56 am #168089Looks like a lot of Shrewsbury fans boycotted this game, for what looks like a badge change decision by the club??!! Seems a bit strange not getting behind your team for one of the biggest games of the season.
A lot of their fans seem resigned to the play off’s now anyway.
