Obramavic has now been added to the sanction list and as such Chelsea can no longer trade.
Sounds worse than it is in the short term, but the concise version is Chelsea can’t make any more money, so no more tickets sales (season tickets for this year and tickets already sold honoured), can’t buy players, can’t sell players, can’t sell the club and can’t renew contracts….
Maybe Reece James is coming home on a FREE
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
10 March 2022 at 11:06 am #195774I can see the point the Govs making but it will come at a price. Just focusing on Chelsea and football in general. Do we punish every club that has a link to anything Russian ? Owners, Adverts, sponsorship ?. If we are going to make the word “Russian” a swear word then get ready for some hard times ahead for all
10 March 2022 at 11:17 am #195776I bet Bournemouth fans are getting worried.
10 March 2022 at 1:03 pm #195780Looks like sponsors are looking at their ‘relationship’ with the club too. Could be a rough few months/years for them if this war keeps rolling on…

10 March 2022 at 3:47 pm #195786F@@@@@@@ corrupt City business leaders and fingers in the pie slimeball politicians. How many decades have they turned a blind eyes to corrupt Russian money ? How many city financial institutions city traders and greedy politicians are cleansing all evidence of Russian investments. For years they’ve allowed these criminals to launder their dirty money and done f@@@ all in fact they invited their investments. Suddenly the horrors in the Ukraine arise and they now playing the moral high ground !!!……City of London trade houses are more corrupt than the Russians they now placing sanctions on.
11 March 2022 at 9:31 am #195790It will be interesting to see how this plays out. As far as I’m aware Abramovic hasnt actually made any money out of Chelsea, but clearly would do if someone paid him £3bn for the club. I very much doubt they will go bust, but the songs from the opposition fans will be funny to hear.
In terms of sanctions against Russia and Russians – principles and stances come at a cost. The cost to us all in the west for turning our back on Russia will be higher energy bills, higher petrol prices, and higher cost of everything that relies on gas, electric or oil, which is pretty much everything. That said, Putin needs to be brought to heel, preferably from within, as whilst me may hurrump at paying £1.50 a litre for fuel, his people will starve and die.
13 March 2022 at 12:17 pm #195808Abramovitch has been banned from the UK long before the invasion cant help thinking the government have an agenda against him and have used the war as the perfect vehicle to nail him.
14 March 2022 at 4:29 pm #195825Chelsea in trouble through no fault of their own. All debts, creditors payments up to date. In this position purely because they were owned by a corrupt foreign businessman……..Ring any bells.???
