Well what did you expect?? Shit load of changes …f%%%% me our 1st 11 are dog shit so the 2nd team??….All their goals came from…..wait for it…..3 strikers …..now there’s a novelty!!!!…Hugill should be returned ASAP…..United academy must be w%%% cos if he was 1 of their best then they are screwed. Absolutely pitiful tonight, against a league 2 side who too had changed their team around. 9 changes,4 subs….Sorry but the owner needs to act now….don’t give him the window…..we are in serious footballing trouble. He isn’t learning…same shit game after game………can’t see anything but a hiding Saturday cos this lot have got no fight, steel, desire to continue our recent performances there…….times well up for me.
10 December 2024 at 10:38 pm #204528The problems are from the top down. There’s no one thing like owner, manager, players that can fix this mess.
I’m not actually sure the owner CEO director odd job mon whoever can sort this this is years of bad owners and players on stupid amounts.
I actually thought we didn’t look too bad, far better than Saturday but again we lose.
Firstly, Adeeko, awful absolutely out his depth but remains on the pitch for the full 90.
This Dummett ? did nothing bar received the ball and passed backwards and the pen? no seriously that reminded me of a Sunday League sweep tackle. To be wrong footed like that then sweep his feet from underneath
him like that was truly comical.Maloney cannot help himself swapping and subbing. This rotation thing cannot be good for players they need a settle side.
It’s clearly not working for Maloney and although he’s a Wigan legend his time is up. He’s not totally to blame for the downturn in form but he’s certainly not helped himself.
This player rotational football before a game and at half time is killing us, he’s not helping himself one iota
11 December 2024 at 2:59 am #204529A hammering at Bolton could be the final nail in SM’s tenure as Manager.
It would be sort of ironic if Bolton beat us for the first time in 10 years and save us from relegation in the process.11 December 2024 at 9:15 am #204531Best we can hope for Saturday is 0-0. and pray we can pinch 1 late on. Go behind early and this rice paper side will melt. No Wyke,McLean,Lang, fired up or Humphreys quality that day. Just a toothless, pedestrian no fight team(Macmanaman apart). 1 on loan recognised striker who really nowhere near good enough and powder puff midfield. Of all the games not needed at present it’s this one cos based on Huddersfield, Orient and Chesterfield s performances we look like lambs to the slaughter……The Dummet transfer is a shambles from a shambles of a recruitment team . Screaming out for any striker and we get a player not needed. Same with Asamoah. Sorry to hear Rankine probably done for season as don’t wish injury on any player…..but imo won’t be greatly missed as another recruitment balls up. Live in hope for Saturday but hopes all it is…….the owner really does need to arrest this slide in 1 or 2 ways…….New manager and investment……there is no “sustainability ” cheap fix…..you’ve bought a money pit football club….there really are no self financing clubs at this level….”surely you didn’t make your billions in ignorance ” ?
11 December 2024 at 9:46 am #204532By the time that Danson has done the data analytics (the stuff that his empire is built upon) we will be well and truly doomed.
It doesn’t need a fancy algebra formula to first release that we are in trouble, and secondly to fix it.11 December 2024 at 10:08 am #2045331 million as a ball park figure for maybe 2 lower league strikers who surely are an improvement on what weve got !….are we really that financially destitute that such a wealthy owner with a few bob in funds after the Hughes, Lang moves can’t authorise???….Speculation is the name of his game surely? He’s made a phenomenal success of his career by speculating. Otherwise league 2 with ever more difficult finance issues looms!!!…..Sustainability?? Yes to a degree but this has been too severe,to quickly and the proof is on the pitch and in the stands…..analyse that Mr Danson.!!!!
11 December 2024 at 10:38 am #204534Apologies, but this is a repeat from a previous post that I did weeks ago:
Hope Ebeneezer Danson is reading :
Let’s put some perspective on the table:
Danson’s net worth is currently 1.349 billion +
In the last 12 months his net worth grew by 56 million.
So put a million quid in a bucket, and now fill another 1,348 bucketsNow explain why we are scratching around without any money to spend.
Danson is not committed to helping the Latics to be successful; period !
It’s so bleedin obvious.
He wouldn’t even notice a few missing buckets12 December 2024 at 6:58 am #204537There’s 3 choices Danson has:-
1) Give Maloney money in Jan then summer to recruit the right players for the right areas
2) Keep Maloney with the same players no investment in the hope he can turn things around
3) Sack Maloney and try to bring in a manager who can turn the current crop of players around. This would require a substantial pay off for staff.
The problem with 1-2-3 nothing is guaranteed to work. We could do all 3 and still go down and I think this is what Danson is thinking so he will go with No2 the cheapest and easiest option
My biggest fear is, we take a drop to L2 this year and more cutbacks come in due to less money coming in and we end up back were we started nearly 50 years ago
Non League
I’m in no doubt if this happens we will never get back up because there’s clubs in non league spending more than half of L2 clubs and some L1 trying to get into the league but still can’t manage it.
As Whelan found out if you get the right manager it can work and be successful but get it wrong your well and truly knackered.
Maloney needs to go it’s our only chance, he cannot get a tune out this current crop and we can’t change 20 odd players overnight.
12 December 2024 at 9:45 am #204541Also you have to consider this into the equation:
Take note of how many players contracts are due to finish at the end of this season in May 2025. So it’s not necessarily about replacing a couple of players to turn this current squad around; it could be about replacing anything up to about 10 of the current squad. Some of our squad might see a happier future away from the dysfunctional club that we have become; and as for attracting new talent, you’re going to need a set of crystal balls to foresee the miracle that is needed.
12 December 2024 at 2:18 pm #204544I was discussing this at work last night. Once the 5 loan players go,Dummet I’m led to believe only has a contract till January….then not sure if this is accurate but Scott Smith,Johnny Smith,Sessegnon,McManaman,Robinson,,McHugh,Aimson, all players who can leave summer 2025.Then there’s the virtual certainty Aasgaard and Tickle will depart …..doesn’t make good reading. Left to our recruitment team and Dansons sewn up pockets it’s a disaster in the making. Good point you made….with the completely negative feel around the gaff at the moment…..who would want to remain and more importantly….with our ” please Mr Scrooge, can we have 1 more log on the fire” league 2 pay structure….who would want to come????…..January is really going to be so important and certainly will give us clarity on the owners real intentions!!!
12 December 2024 at 3:55 pm #204545My issue is, if you buy a car that’s run down and you intend on using it then before you buy it you weigh up the amount it will cost to get it up and running up then calculate the running cost like fuel tyres brake replacement cost, these add-ons and factor into whether it’s worth buying or not or just simply walk away.
It would be stupid if you to purchase the car without full well knowing these 3 things,
how much will the car cost me to buy ?
What will be the cost to restore/repair and the running cost ?
And, am I willing to put my own money in and pay for all this or not ??
Danson’s basically bought the club, ripped it back to its bare nacked bollocks then ran it thinking ?
Shall I shar’nt I invest ?He bought this club full well knowing that once all the big earners had left the manager needed some kind of budget to fill those player slots with cheaper option experienced players.
We are now seeing what happens when you try to run a football club like a business with huge cutbacks then build back up with little investment
You basically fall apart from the bottom up. Never did I expect Danson to go checkbook mad when he saved the club but never did I think he would would leave the Latics shipwreck shored to rot.
With no investment he expects us to be self sufficient ? Fcuk me we can’t even see half time scores on the TVs due to fucked teles or their just full of bullshit sh!t adverts.
The clubs a sh*thole, a mess, fans are walking away in their droves at half time and some have had enough and don’t bother going honestly.
When Aasgaard and Tickle go who’s the next crop ? Who?? they should be slowly been seen coming through but what I see is a club taking care of everyone else’s youth while ours gets focked off out on loan.
This Christmas period is crunchtime for us with 3 big away games coming up in Dec and the way things are shaping up I can only see one thing coming and it ain’t 3 point presents
Bottom 3 heading into Jan looking for more loan players while ours gets sent out
You couldn’t make this sh!t up, concentrate on our own players coming through ? Get off the meds
13 December 2024 at 8:02 am #204548It’s the Happy Clappers who are on the meds
