Some fat Cockney geezer on’t tube, lecturing Wigan fans how:
They are a “big club” and deserve to be in the Prem.
How Wigan only took less than 200 yesterday on Whelan’s free coaches and how they brought over 5,000 to the D.W. Blah, blah, blah. Thank goodness, he didn’t mention how they won the World cup.
Far worse than bar codes imo.I had to laugh when I read that post. It’s the same old big club syndrome these fans at the likes of West Ham, Newcastle, etc have. Is there no cure for it? There are thousands suffering from the same disease!
So, we sold over 600 tickets by Wednesday according to the ticket office when I rang BUT we only took 200. I heard we had around a thousand there yesterday, which for me isn’t a bad following.
They brought 5000 to Wigan? When? Was he talking about the time Brian Deane equalised in the last minute? That’s the last time they brought 5000 to Wigan!
Be fair, its a massive achievement for that lot to finish above the likes of Hull, Burnley and Portsmouth….and they’ve managed to do it without cheating
Incidentally, haven’t they got a similar record to us in the Premier League recently, ie they’ve had 3 seasons where they’ve only just stayed up and yet the club that won the world cup celebrate the end of those seasons like the wc has been won again
