If the rumours surfacing are correct he’ll be sold before the transfer deadline and if not he’ll be sent out on a season long loan.
Another one never given a chance before been shipped out.27 July 2018 at 12:54 pm #170590Not surprisingly as he must be begging to get a start with someone. Strange signing in the first place.

Another one never given a chance before been shipped out.So what you’re saying is that you don’t trust the judgement of the man & his team who see him in training every day, & in reserve/development matches because you have barely seen him yourself??
How do you know that he’s not been given fitness targets in training that he’s missed? How do you know that he’s not been being asked to follow instructions in games & training & he’s just ignored them? How do you know that Cole himself hasn’t gone to Cook after the summer break & said he wants to leave?
27 July 2018 at 1:36 pm #170592He must have asked to go. Why would a young man who was scoring goals for Fleetwood just last season want to sit in the stands and watch football. Yes he trains and works with our manager and coaches and they get to see his faults but the same manager and coaches and scouts obviously didn’t do their homework on him in the first place when signing him. Or do we just back their judgement in both cases but find an excuse for the one that looks like it could have been a mistake.
He should make way and provide some funding and a wage for a left back now.27 July 2018 at 1:36 pm #170593All valid points TL. Ian Breckin asked to leave in 2005 as he didn’t think he could cut it in the PL. Maybe Cole has done the same?
The fact he is untried at this level means that we have to be pretty confident that he will succeed because we can’t afford to carry players in the hope they are good enough. Financially or in a bid to survive and consolidate.
Perhaps Cook has decided he won’t make the step up so we need to cut our losses and use the money he is taking from the budget to sign someone who is cut out for this level. Wallace perhaps.
27 July 2018 at 5:59 pm #170596Of the players we have brought in only Macca is tried at this level so what is different about Cole?I can imagine the ‘Dads Army’ trio who have been on trial will be signing short contracts soon. Who knows these old timers may just have the experience to help us consolidate this year and may just bridge a gap for a while untill we get to know the intentions of the new owners if and when the takeover saga gets sorted out.
27 July 2018 at 6:13 pm #170597More than likely he’s not happy at the game time hes getting and wants regular first team football, I can’t see his old man letting him rest on his laurels in training and from the glimpses I’ve seen he’s one for the future so a loan would be good for us.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when he came on for the few minutes I saw last season he did very well.
And you wanna get out those bushes with the binoculars and boom mic, by the sounds of it your stalking him in training no wonder he’s off27 July 2018 at 11:43 pm #170602Cole and Coco didn’t go on the jaunt to Spain is probably where the rumours are stemming from.
28 July 2018 at 4:07 am #170608Donny takes over at Latics…..
The club has billions to spend after scrapping the trip to Spain but need to sell to recoup the losses from gate receipts as ticket prices are slashed to 3 and 6.
Paul Jewell replaces Paul Cook and immediately reverts back to a 442 formation with a “big un and a little un” up front.
Fans flock from far and wide as a friendly a day is played in July with tickets priced at 1 and 6. The club loses millons and the players are all out injured before the season starts.
Jewell therefore spends £800 million in the transfer market 2 days before the season starts and is sacked for not having his squad together by May 1st.
29 July 2018 at 8:28 pm #170626Neither even on the bench today. Looks like a totally experimental line up.
That’s it season for real next Saturday. -
