A better comparison would be between teams who play the same sport.
Latics v Bolton ,Blackburn ,Man Utd ,Liverpool
then
Warriors V St Helens ,Warrington,Huddersfield ,Leeds2 September 2009 at 7:05 pm #7848Christ on a Bike, you cannot do that….
Rule No 1. Always always bring Rugby up when talking about WAFC Attendances.
Rule No 2. Go back to rule No 1 and try again.
6 September 2009 at 7:50 am #8137make attendances up,your joking! on their official site, there was 29,627 on st helens away sat 02 may. have a look
That game was played at Edinburgh as part of the magic weekend and the attendance for the day was 29,627. Quite correct to quote that amount as did St Helens http://www.saintsrlfc.com/results/99

And how many sets of fans were there that day – 4, 6 or 8???
Because it wasn’t just Saints and Warriors fans was it?

What we really should do , is compare how old each club is, surely the younger club which used to have an average of 1200 should have the lowest crowds,

3 games that day. Harlequins v Salford and Wakefield v Bradford. Neither game had the fans flocking.
Incidentally, the day after 4 games were played and only 1,000 more turned up than on Saturday.
7 September 2009 at 12:11 am #8178Yeah. Why dont you put WAFC’s attendances in brackets next to each one of those 20 figures?

Incidentally its 7 (SEVEN) years since you averaged more than us, and our lowest average over the last five years is still over 2,000 above your highest ever average.
Your average this season looks set to be 14,000, thats over 4,000 less than ours last season.
Still want to compare attendances?
Now run along back to your 6 fingered inbreds and leave us alone.[/quote]They averaged more than us in 05, which was 4 years ago not 7 mate. Who gives a funk anyway.
8 September 2009 at 9:19 pm #8343More importantly, look at the growth in our attendances over the years.
Bloody fantastic, as it happens. No other club’s support has grown so much. What? From the 1400 or so we got in 1995? Brilliant.

Thats why I put it up. I know they were p**s poor early on, but to see the rise to now actually in print looks great.
10 September 2009 at 11:49 am #8419The rugby attendances are down because they now need 2 seats to park their fat ass.
