We went into yesterday’s game on a run of nine defeats. This was compounded by the conceding of a goal in the second minute. While this was again due to an individual(s) error, and I imagine did nothing for team morale, I thought their reaction was extremely positive and they are all obviously still playing for RM.
While some other team’s fans think we should not be in the PL because of our lack of numbers of fans, if league placings were decided by supporter negativity we would be Champions League contenders every season.
For me, the 3 centre back formation worked well and helps limit both the football-playing and the defensive deficiencies of GC and SG.
I though Stam had his best game for some time and the left wing back role really suited Jones.
People can criticise our players but if they were world-beaters they would not be playing for WAFC.
Jimmy Mac seemed to back on his game (at last) and Diame was, once again, a deserved man of the match.
While Sammon does not have the technical ability of HR, he causes defenses to ‘panic’ and gives 100%. Moses and Gomez both cause problems for Blackburn.
It’s not about ‘ifs and buts’, it’s about supporting your team when the going gets tough (and yes on occasion they play shite!). After seeing Blackburn’s long ball game I know who I would rather be watching.

On match days I support my team when I’m at home I vent my frustrations on this sight because booing does not help. But that does not hide the fact since Bob has taken charge we are a club in decline made up of his players. How anyone can still back the clown is beyond me he has one way to play and it doesn’t work for us.

RM is managing a club not just the 11 he sends out on a Saturday and has accepted the financial constraints of managing Wigan unlike previous managers who spent money unwisely knowing they would only be here a couple of years.
To say he only has one way to play demonstrates a lack of understanding of the complexity of modern day football. This is not the Sunday league stuff I used to play extremely badly!
Yes I agree he likes to overpass (and does not have the players to fulfil this desire effectively yet) but yesterday I was ‘shocked’ when I sau the team. However, this was the best performance for a long time. We played 3-4-3 which changed to 5-4-1 dependent on where the ball was. Playing Sammon also meant that the long ball was used more than normal.
I’d like to hope the good times are around the corner – the alternative is not worth thinking about!

I have absolutely no respect for Bob as a football manager he has no idea how to pick a team and find a formation that his team can play. If you or I were as bad at our jobs as he is at his we would have been sacked ages ago and rightfully so.

Have you seen the objectives that DW has given to RM for his role as manager of this club? No, neither have I, but as he hasn’t been sacked you have to presume that his boss is happy with what he is doing. Read into that what you will.
