All the Martinez supporters please comment on this. Real comments please. I do not support him and I boo him after every game, it is my right as a season ticket holder and a supporter for many years. I am now hoping to be convinced that we have the right man for the job.

Why should we back the manager?
Why do you think he will come good? (what signs has he shown)
Do you think Gomez should be playing PL football?
Do you think the 4-5-1 is the formation to keep us in the league?
Are you in favour of not trying new things?
Does the lack of passion from the manager not bother you?
Do you think the players are playing for the manager?
Do you agree with players playing out of position?
Do you think that our pathetic away support would be the same if we had some passion and fight within the team?
Do you think the atmosphere would be so bad if the players were not so flat?
Do you think the rubbish slow football and passing until we lose the ball is good to watch?
Do you think the cross field balls into touch are taking the club to the new level?
Where do you see WAFC in 3 years if we keep the faith with Martinez?

I have been proud to support WAFC and have always backed a manager, even Kenny Swain. I have never known our support to be so quiet but cannot balme them as they have nothing to get excited about, no fight, no passion, no pride. The players are good enough I believe if we play to there strengths like Stoke do, like Brum do, like most other clubs do.

We will probabaly go down, we might not its next season I am worried about as with Martinez I do not think we will come back up!

You boo him after every game……dear me, you must wake up on a Saturday and count down the time till 4.50. Presumably no thought of turning up and getting behind the team for 90 minutes, no doubt you boo them in the warm up or as they’re coming out of the tunnel for KO.

No, sorry to disapoint. I support them for 90 minutes get frustrated, cheer every goal just as a football fan does. Unfortunaltly I also get upset by people not doing the best for our club. Silly subs, players out of position, poor football, clueless managers. After getting up for every game I seem to be let down by this clown. Then I have a right to moan.

See you did not answer any of the questions.

Boo every game charming £250 well invested

            #25000

i dont boo every game – never have done – i dont and never have supported martinez, but i shout and cheer during the whole game,i am not a JCL and apart from periods of work and holidays and sometimes my hobby i have seen the majority of games every season since we entered the football league,i have said this on here before i even left my own wedding reception 28 years ago to watch latics play.

so please give me the answers to the questions natdan has asked, without fudging the issue with insults or asking who we should bring in instead.

it is simple please tell us on the “darkside” ,as you have named us, why you show such loyalty to roberto martinez.

Natdan…..Sorry I really can’t be arsed answering all your questions but I support Martinez.

The reason is this, we had a good manager in Bruce. He kept us up and pushed us on. Then for whatever reasons the chairman decides that he needs the money and withdraws his financial support and starts to sell off good players and we spend buttons replacing them.

Our results take a massive turn for the worse and Bruce jumps ship and I can’t say I blame him……

Now at that point we look about as attractive a proposition as Bella Emberg in sussies! :x

If you think back there wasn’t exactly many managers beating down our door to come to us was there? Somehow Whelan managed to convince Roberto that it’s a good move for him to give up all the work he has done at Swansea and come and join an outfit with small crowds and according to many pundits a dead cert again to go down. With yet more rumours of several more players wanting away.

I’ll wager there was talk of big transfer budjets somewhere along the negotiations

I believe no matter who we got in as Bruces replacement we were destined to struggle, with a rebuilt team yet again. It was naive to think anything else. Our current predicament is no real surprise.

I believe Martinez has taken on a massive task and has unsurprisingly made a lot of mistakes. But, he is learning from them, and if we stay up this season I believe he will take us on. If we don’t I believe he is our best chance at getting back up again.

In short I will be supporting him even if we get relegated.

              #25003

thanks for your reply yick and respect for your view and to some extent i agree with you,the only issue i can take up with anything you said is :-

“Martinez has taken on a massive task and has unsurprisingly made a lot of mistakes. But, he is learning from them”

can you show me where he is learning from them – his system in everybody’s opinion, even among the so called “superfans“(not a dig just a generalisation) is not working, but he seems unlikely to ever change it,so how is this learning from his mistakes ?

              #25004

              I’ll have a go natdan.

‘Why should we back the manager?’
Because it’s too late to get someone else in. Bring another manager in and we go down, simply as that. Booing makes things worse, so try not to do it. It’s easy, don’t purse your lips, and don’t make a ‘boo’ noise.

‘Why do you think he will come good? (what signs has he shown)’
At Wigan, I admit he has struggled. At Swansea, he was a revelation, and was very highly rated. He’s still learning his trade, is bright enough to learn, and will be supported by Whelan whether you like it or not.

‘Do you think Gomez should be playing PL football?’
              At present, no.

‘Do you think the 4-5-1 is the formation to keep us in the league?’
It is only 4-5-1 when we don’t have possession, and is 4-3-3 when we do. 4-4-2 would be worth trying out. If there are three worse teams, then yes, your perceived 4-5-1 will keep us up.

‘Are you in favour of not trying new things?’
Tried to convince the wife, but she’s not keen. If Martinez tried news thing and they failed, he’d still get slated. What new things do you mean?

‘Does the lack of passion from the manager not bother you?’
No. Because he doesn’t jump up and down on the touch line, it doesn’t mean he lacks passion. If he fell onto the turf and thumped the ground if we concede a goal, would that be proof of passion?

‘Do you think the players are playing for the manager?’
Not sure. Maybe they are playing for Helios, the sun god. If you mean are they playing well enough, then no, obviously.

‘Do you agree with players playing out of position?’
Who plays out of position? If you mean Rodallega, then no. At present though, he doesn’t even warrant his place in the team in my opinion. N’zogbia? Yes. He’s more dangerous coming in from the right.

‘Do you think that our pathetic away support would be the same if we had some passion and fight within the team?’
No, not considerably. People have less disposable income at present. By using the word ‘pathetic’, I’m starting to suspect that you are a wind-up merchant of some sort.

‘Do you think the atmosphere would be so bad if the players were not so flat?’
Flat? You’ll have to explain yourself. You mean unenthusiastic? If so, then no. The atmosphere has been declining for a couple of seasons. Or do you mean ‘fat’?

‘Do you think the rubbish slow football and passing until we lose the ball is good to watch?’
Ah-ha, a loaded question. No, foreign football with a slow build up is always rubbish, and quick English style football is dead good –always.

‘Do you think the cross field balls into touch are taking the club to the new level?’
No, we’ve done it for a few seasons, however, these days we don’t have Heskey, McCulloch or Mido to stand on the left touchline and get a head on it. You just notice it more now because you’re not happy. Have you been talking to Loudmouth?

‘Where do you see WAFC in 3 years if we keep the faith with Martinez?’
Playing in Wigan, and with some of the morons whittled off.

              That do you?

Message BlueneonJrfatfanwigmon: Can I have one of those hand-clappy smilies please for Mr Walker – I think you fellas are the keepers of the cool smilies?

Message Mr Walker: A couple of points:-

1, can’t believe you bothered to respond. Who does he think he is? Having done so, top response – agree with every word.

2, oh no, actually I don’t agree with every word – my wife will try new things which is why I wasn’t able to respond at gone midnight on a school night.

Message Yick/LMB: I agree with both of you, too. Broad church, you see. Broad church.

It’s a happy clappy day all round.

              Thanks Griff, you’re too kind.

I only replied because I was bored as the wife won’t try new things.

Glad to see you agree with the Helios sun god thing. It’s something I’ve suspected for a while.

Standish – you have hit the nail on the head there. I was going to post something similar but I am loosing interest in posting sensible stuff at the moment, mainly due to the amount of either thugby windup’s or maybe Swansea windup’s….never heard of some of these people and I have been posting on here for some time…

Anyhoo, I would like to see Rodders start from the bench for one game, he is lacking confidence and is getting very frustrated. I think maybe Scotland and Moses would be good, just give Rodders a break.

Looking forward to the game on Monday, just finished a very Long assignment in the City so will be back in the North west for the next 6 months (at least).

I don’t agree with Martinez as you probably know.
But, looking at our remining fixtures it really hits home how near we are to the drop. In the remaining time we have left, realisticly we can do nothing.
All we can do is remember, even now were still living a life long dream. Next season could be our 6th in the top flight. The only possible way we can help the team is with support.
My feelings are known, but I’m willing to forget them to give the team what’s needed. If I can forget grievances, anyone can.
If you can forget your grievances as well for the next couple of months, we may be ok.

1 half normal reply but I hate to say you are wrong on so many fronts. Your wife obviously gets it somewhere else, but thats another message board. I will stick to the football.

Johnny Cornflake – Why start rodders on the bench, why not play him upfront with someone else like he has done previously and done well. He is a good player played out of position. I would agree if you had said bench rather than left wing!

                    Standish –

Martinez has shown no signs of learning so I am not sure hwere this is from, he seems to be getting worse.

Trying new things such as 4-4-2, its been around years but Martinez seems to hate it. Spurs we did it for 14 minutes and had looked half decent.

We do NOT play 4-3-3 when going forward. The wide men do not get forward enough other than the odd run until possession is lost. THis is not 4-3-3. You need to watch this if you attend games and see that we have no structure going forward and therefore give up possession by the slow football.

Passion, I would at least stop myself making comments such as “conceeding goals does not bother me”, “we played well and are building a platform” – The players play like Martinez, dull and not interested.

Our support is pathetic and unfortunatly that does not make me a rugby fan or a Swansea fan. I think Everton away this season made me realise how bad it is, there were 450 there. I was also amazed that we only had 11,000 home fans against Everton. Yes I was also there with the 500 or so at Portsmouth which I thought was ok. These loyal supporters are dying off though and who can blame us with what we have to look forward to.

You need to also get it into your head that the football we play is not building up to anything, we pass it around at the back then lose possession, we are so easy to play against its frightening. A little faster would be a start.

The fact is Martinez as ruined what we had and killed off support that we need. He needs to go, now or the end of the season but he is not the man for the job!
