Concerning the kids I like what he is saying. Looks like we could see some of our youngsters in when needed and I don’t think PC will be afraid of calling them up.
23 July 2017 at 6:08 pm #160596Wish last season’s three idiots had have done the same then the kids would have had that little bit more experience.

What a journey!23 July 2017 at 8:43 pm #160598He’s the manager stop the bullshit and get the first team doing what they are well paid to do, if they aren’t up to it fuck em off and get replacements
Dont rely on youth if you’re serious about promotion.
Fuck the EFL
23 July 2017 at 8:50 pm #160599I remember Leighton Baines being introduced to the first team due to injuries. He started slow but the rest is history. If they are good enough they are old enough and on the pre season form certainly Lang, Merrie and Burgess have looked as good, if not better than the so called first teamers.

What a journey!23 July 2017 at 9:20 pm #160600What position do those three players play JR? Who of the first teamers would you drop for them?
23 July 2017 at 9:57 pm #160601I’m always a fan of bringing young players through, and you could say that over recent seasons it’s something that’s been lacking.
That said, I wouldn’t want us to bang these lads in and expect them to do the business week in, week out. I’d probably stick Luke Burke in, without question, as I don’t think he should’ve been dropped last season. But the likes of Lang and the others, I’d like to see them brought through gradually, off the bench and in League Cup, etc. Don’t ruin them by too much, too soon.
Fair enough if one of them comes on and looks absolutely outstanding, consider starting them next game. But otherwise, gently gently. The existing experienced pros we have at the club really should do the business this season.
We’ve not played great yet, but we are unbeaten. And if we are unbeaten whilst ‘lacking belief’, then imagine when we start believing!
23 July 2017 at 10:43 pm #160602What position do those three players play JR? Who of the first teamers would you drop for them?Lang has looked the far better player than Bogle so that would be my first change. Merrie is a busy midfielder and offers more going forward than say Perkins or Power, that would be my second change. Burgess may be a bench player till he gets a bit more experience. You can only make decisions on what you see in pre season games and that’s what I’ve seen.

Are you for real, we were losing before he brought the kids on and PC aimed the no belief quote at the players deemed first choice. The kids turned the game and Cookie rightly pointed it out.

Lets remember we were losing 1.0 at the time. It wasn’t a case of bringing them on when we were winning. The kids won us the game. They showed at times more energy and life than the team that started.
Prey tell bullit what part have I misunderstood and should read again?.
24 July 2017 at 1:53 am #160606Read my post again slowly, if the first teamers aren’t up to the job then get rid while we still can and get replacements
Dont expect the young lads to do it every week in league 1.
Fuck me, pulling teeth is easier!

24 July 2017 at 2:49 am #160607The first team players we need are still all out injured.
I would prefer to see our youngsters anyday to rejects like Hunt and players playing out of condition or position.
At the end of the day the question is ‘Have we got the type of players young old contract trialist who are suitable to play the passing game Cooky favours on what will soon be a midden’
One more friendly in pre season before the real stuff starts. What’s the odds on the injured first team players not being here later in the season and fit and playing for other clubs?24 July 2017 at 3:26 am #160608The first team players we need are still all out injured.

One more friendly in pre season before the real stuff starts. What’s the odds on the injured first team players not being here later in the season and fit and playing for other clubs?Grigg, Powell and Daniels all played in a behind closed doors friendly against Llandudno yesterday. Grigg was on scoresheet, as was Jack Byrne.
They’ve been cautious with Grigg and Powell, sensibly so considering their injury problems from last season..I’d expect both to feature at some point versus Grimsby.
Rumour going about that we are keen to bering in a lad called Donahue from Chesterfield, possibly in a swap deal involving David Perkins. Personally, I’d keep Perkins for his steady head and experience at this level. The Championship was a level top high for him, but league one he can be an asset.
24 July 2017 at 5:08 pm #160611Callum Lang is the one most likely for me.
Only seen him for 30 minutes against Liverpool but he looked very comfortable on the ball for an 18 year old. Caught my eye straightaway.
I think he will get plenty minutes on the field this season.
