Let’s dedicate this thread to non cook out related rants. Its obvious that the powers that be are sticking by him, he’s here for the rest of the season no matter how much we don’t like it. So, with that in mind, let’s stop going round and round over the same ground and stick to team selection, potential transfer targets etc. related posts.
For the Swansea game, I would have Moore and Gelhardt up front, with Windass playing just behind them in the “hole”. I wouldn’t play both Evans and Dowell in midfield, it would be Morsey, Williams and AN Other. Keep defence as it is till Dujon is fit.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!15 January 2020 at 7:29 pm #184025I’d start Garner with Windass. Garner seems the only player capable of finishing.
15 January 2020 at 8:16 pm #184031Garner, Moore ,Windass behind…….give defences a physical test cos fancy pants pass crap failed miserably.
15 January 2020 at 9:34 pm #184034Even with those three up top I wouldn’t sacrifice the passing game. However, it would need to be a lot crispier and not as slow/laboured as it was on Saturday – and should definitely be used instead of lumping it forward to the big man. We need to get the passing game going, moving the ball out wide and getting it into the box, where we may be able to do some damage with a couple of forwards in there!
15 January 2020 at 9:37 pm #184036So you don’t want to play a passing game and you don’t want to play route one. What style do you want to play?

16 January 2020 at 11:29 am #184052Geldhart, Weir into the first team squad with Geldhart into the old Powell role.
Can’t make my mind up between Windass or Garner but here’s one for some debate Robinson as an out and out striker .
He has proved he has attacking qualities , has pace , and has already scored and also looked lively around the box.
Off the wall but he is still learning and proved already he is a good utility player who looks better in an attacking position centrally.16 January 2020 at 1:58 pm #184058Bloody hell vince. Donny will have a fit of we start playing a left back up front
16 January 2020 at 10:50 pm #184079He is a utility player and in my view seems better in attack.
Used to be common for managers back in the day to utilise defenders as make shift strikers when times were tough.
Mick Lyons of Everton is a classic example.
Try anything , we are down in my view unless he makes radical changes. Will get a laugh or two I know18 January 2020 at 12:57 pm #184121Moore back into the equation this week
18 January 2020 at 5:08 pm #184125Bloody hell vince. Donny will have a fit of we start playing a left back up frontWell, we do play a left winger as a centre back.
18 January 2020 at 5:10 pm #184126Moore back into the equation this weekIf he is, I hope it means that Cook doesnt revert back to the hoofball tactics. I know results are still frustrating at the moment, but we have improved slightly by playing football.
30 January 2020 at 7:09 pm #184504Just one change for the Leeds game, Williams for Dowell.
Don’t think we need many changes. From Matlock to ManU
