So, what happened to this so called new striker we were signing?
Another Wigan transfer gone wrong again….. :?This is my first post but I have watched with annoyance all the doubters and moaners on this site.
Martinez is a Wiganer through and through.
He is trying to bring a new style of football to us that is better than the hoof ball or ultra defensive crap that we had last year. This will take time especially as most of the players we have are still in the mind set of Bruce formation.
Stop your moaning. Its been 4 matches (5 with blackpool) and you all want miracles. Give Martinez and the club a chance.
If we go down, so what. Its still Wigan and at least he is trying something different.
Dont forget Jewel had the same problem when he arrived (remember Canvey Island anyone?)Come on the tics.

if you think he is here , along with 99% of every other footballer and manager , for anything else other than the cash then you are deluded my friend
it is a profession , a job , he , along with others (players) see’s the club as a stepping stone to further his managerial or playing career

Martinez had the opportunity to join Celtic (or maybe it was another club) but chose Wigan.
I do understand that money does talk but you are a plonker if you think that any manager just does the job for the money.
With your analysis then no one is going to fit the managerial post because they are “only here for the money”.My post wasn’t about whether or not he is a Wiganer, my post is about the fact he is trying to bring a new style of football and all you moaning, doubters should just give him a chance.
Again I say so what if we go down. I was there at springfield park and I will be there after the prem.
I cant say it would be a shock if all you doubting jcl just jump ship to another team thats up and coming.
City is just down the road, so why not go and moan about them instead….Rant over :D

yes , apperentley celtic where after him at the same time , but given a choice , most managers at any level , would jump at the chance of a premiership side
if they dont do it for the money , what do they do it for ?
i work to live , they are no different in principalby my analysis no one is going to fit the managerial post ??
get a grip , what do most average footballers do when they retire ? they go into some form of coaching , some are better at it than others so get remunerated on a grander scaleyour post , and i quote ”Martinez is a Wiganer through and through” , so what are we to take form that statement ?

if i have , please feel free to show me where ?im a realist , nothing more , nothing less , i tell it how i see it . i see very little loyalty in football today
john terry was bummed up for staying at chelsea , yeah , iwould have stayed where i was reasonably happy for a lot more cash and a longer contract . he used the city offer to get more coin out of chelsea yet was hailed as a hero after a long delay in anouncing he would be staying ??

Don’t take it as a personal swipe, unless your one of the doubters. If you have read Martinez’s book you will see that he hold Wigan football club and the fans in high regard. He was one of the first foreign players to be brought over and started a trend and helped Wigan to great things. He even lived on Poolstock lane, which for footballers with money, it made me smile.
I know everyone works for a living, but given the choice of where you work and what you do, doesn’t always boil down to money.
You must surely see that having an ex player with passion for a club is better than some jonny somebody (BRUCE) coming with a reputation and then when it doesn’t go his was, slag the club off.
All this talk about bringing in quality player. This is Wigan athletic and we should be a club that encourages new talent to come into the prem. Most of the other clubs want to buy ready made players, but how the hell do young footballers get there chance if no one is willing to help them.
We are a club that is nearly running debt free. I was there when as a club we couldn’t afford to pay the players wages, until DW stepped in.
Screw all you moaners,
I say Wigan for Wigan fans and thank you Marinez and DW.The future is bright, blue and debt free :)
