we could be portsmouth todays the day they learn their fate ,in the next ten min to be precise ,and on portsmouth fc forum they are bricking it ,so no matter what happens on the field we will still have a club ,hope they have too .just deduct nine points though
10 February 2010 at 2:31 pm #22244It would be a proper tragedy for them if the judge decides to wind them up but for us, that 4-0 defeat could prove to be the most effective result of the season. We’d shoot up a couple of places, I think if there records are expunged.
Every cloud, and all that :D

What do you mean most effective?
10 February 2010 at 2:34 pm #22249judge is a woman dont know if that will effect things
10 February 2010 at 2:38 pm #22253Liquidation – cease to exist – this seasons results wiped
Administration – 9 point deduction
Adjournment – live to fight another day
Compromise – pay acceptable sum10 February 2010 at 2:42 pm #22256It would be a proper tragedy for them if the judge decides to wind them up but for us, that 4-0 defeat could prove to be the most effective result of the season. Because, everybody’s results against them would be deleted. Therefore, we get 4 goals worth of goal difference back – but no points, obviously.
Other teams, who have beaten them or drawn, will lose those one or three points and the positive goal difference that goes with the win.
One of the rags did an analysis after the weekend’s games and if this was to happen we’d move up a couple of places, apparently.
Maybe not literally the most effective result, but you get my drift
10 February 2010 at 2:44 pm #22257So effectively it would leave us with 1 less team in the prem? What are the chances of this happening. Do you think they would make it so there is just two relegation spots?
10 February 2010 at 2:46 pm #22259I would be extremely surprised if they liquidate them.
Administration is possible but my gut says they will get an adjournment…
Whether they should or not is another question….

Of Tea Bag’s four possible outcomes, Adjournment is, by definition, not a final solution. Compromise depends on the good nature of HMRC, who are well known for their good nature, of course. Administration is probably most likely unless said judge comes from Southampton :)

They have offered cash and been turned down haven’t they?
10 February 2010 at 2:53 pm #22264I have no idea, but I suspect they haven’t “offered” enough cash.
This isn’t a haggling situation; they owe taxes which they have not paid.
