a total disgrace nobody seems botherd about latics anymore
cant see owd grey yed putting up with this much longer
anyone on here care to try and explain or even a guess
as to why nobody really cares no more

Who are you actually referring to when you say “nobody seems bothered about latics anymore”
Do you mean the Premier League Band wagon jumpers?
Im sick of hearing “Where are all the fans?” What fans? Our crowds are higher than any point in our history (excluding the first few seasons of premier league football). We cant say fans are missing. They needed to be there in the first place for them to be missing.
I firmly believe that we have a core of around 5000 who would show up no matter what division we are in. It is this figure that we need to work on. What goes on around the core is irrelevant.
Its going to take years of premiership football for this figure to increase to a level that will satisfy the likes of you. So please stop moaning about it and just get on with it.

As you can see from the average attaendances, we inherited a lot ‘overnight’ when we got in the Prem. All those that has had the novelty wear off are now drifting away.
I just wonder if the ones that started watching through the late 90’s will not be as fickle as the ones that tagged on in the early to mid 00’s.
Just as an observation, it seems like the ones that moan most are not the young ‘uns. They (like I did/do) watch Latics whatever happens, like it, hate it, win, lose or draw we are Wigan Athletic.
Managers, players, staff will come and go. What we are seeing is a Club who is going to have a go at breaking away from the tedious hoof it long, stick 10 men behind the ball game that I actually hate more than seeing what we are seeing now. We are trying to play a way that will get us competing with the elite and finishing consistently in mid-league and maybe be even higher. Or it might get us relegated trying, but in my eyes at least we are attempting to do something about it.
It is all about where people think Latics should be and unfortunately some think we should be challenging for Europe every season, just like those teams that spend 100’s of millions on players and 100’s of thousands a week on wages do.
I await the usual repetitive Sh!tE from the usual crew.

It amazes me the fascination to make the effort to go to the pub and watch latics rather than go in person. Must make you proud to get lashed by 2pm on a saturday. Try getting out and experience football.
These are the same people who complain about the poor atmosphere, lack of crowds.
Its said before on here that we dont need fans who can only be ars*d going and watching games in the pub.
well said edinburgh that is the same point i was making in an earlier post. if its not bad enough that we have plastic liverpool man u etc in this town we also have latics fans so called that dont even go they are worse then the plastics.
I think Martinez made reference to it in his post match interview, the edgy crowd or something like that.

i too am old school,by being botherd i meant cant be arsed going
but watching in pubs instead.yeah and all these or the majority of them who watch in the pub are those who jumped on the prem bandwagon,who have not got a clue about our club and what the real fans went through to keep our club going so who gives a toss about them not me for 1 because i know i am botherd and i will go to my grave loveing this club no matter what
